transmission heat shield

so last weekend there was a rattle/scraping noise coming from underneath the car and it turns out the transmission tunnel heat shield has rotten/burnt through the holes where the bolts hold it on to the chassis. It wasn't held on by anything so I just pulled it off.

first question: (not that I have a choice as I need the car to go to work) can I do any lasting damage by keep using the car for a few more days until I find a replacement?

second question: where do I get one? Part number is 8E0804160AN, there is a used one on fleabay for £30, the local breakers yards close by the time I finish work, and SEAT would probably charge an insulting amount for a new one.

any ideas where should I try? ECP doesn't sell it.

thanks

How big are the holes? I had a similar problem on my old Chrysler, got some large washers that covered the holes and re-attached, lasted until I sold the car!

Might be worth a shot whilst you look for a new part at the right price.

the holes are too big to cover the holes but I bought a second hand one for £25 in the end
