Replacement panel filter cause TCS light to come on intermitantly?

Hi all,

Ive searched and searched but i cant find an answer. Over the last few weeks, my TCS light has been coming on randomly. Once I turn ignition off and on again, warning light disappears and then may (or may not) come on again a hundred or so miles later.

Ive got a code reader but i never seem to have it with me when the light appears, so i cant check for any ABS codes etc.

I changed MAF for a brand new one about 8 months ago, (so im assuming its not due to faulty MAF). Ive got no (new) engine management codes (i have the faulty secondary air intake ones, but had them since i got the car about 2 years ago).

Just passed MOT and had full service at local VW/AUDI/SEAT specialist, and he has "suggested" the TCS light could be coming on as i have a replacement GREEN panel air filter? Unfortunately the light didnt come on whilst he had it for service, so he couldnt check with his full VAGCOM system.

Has anyone heard of replacement filters causing TCS light problems?

Apart from the GREEN filter, its a standard 2001 Cupra.

Anything im missing?

Regards to all
Andrew

the codes will be stored anyway mate, plug in the reader and see what it says..

the filter wont be casuing tcs light, nowt to do with it.

the ecu stores any fault codes, so the dealer is talking cack, for a change.

wont be a green filter.. unless it was fitted in a manner which the MAF was dropped or something.

Thanks,.......
...... my code reader will read 4 different.... menus?
1. "Engine" (this is where any DTC/Engine management light codes will flag up)
2. "ABS"
3. "Airbag"
4. "A/T" (auto transmission)
So where should i be looking for any stored codes relating to TCS light?... there is nothing in the "Engine" codes menu?

Cheers
