Right, this seems to be causing some confusion.

A standard H7 halogen bulb is 41mm which we know deffinately fits in the mk4 ibiza

measured as shown in this pic...

if people with HID conversions could state

kit make/supplier
bulb (H7/H7r)
Length of bulb (measured as shown in above pic)
diffuser problems?

then we can hopefully clear things up a bit and see what kit fits

From when I fitted mine iirc the HID bulb is longer cos it has a metal bar running on the outside to provide the leccy. I guess it was a mil or two longer. I would be kind and take them out and measure but its dark, its cold and windy, my light alightment is perfect and i'm lazy :p

Do some searching guys, i did a big thread on this a while back

PS

Would'nt bother with an HID conversion again though as

A) your car WILL NOT pass an MOT
B) They are Illegal
C) They have worse quality light in some cases than standard Halogen bulbs.
D) have caused Fires in quite a few cars now

I suggest you all read this weeks Autoexpress about aftermarket HID's. Looks like Trading standards are gonna be clamping down hard on em. Also they all failed the MOT due to scattered beam pattern. And the ones they tested had a worse light output than the standard Halogen bulbs due to scattered beam patterns again and light wasted from the side

And good cos i am sick of getting blinded by people with shite HID conversions.

sound liek a hypocrite i know, but there are some chite HIDs out there.

Strange as mine passed its MOT fine with HIDs fitted.

Alignment is the key or the lack of it that causes the isseus

i got told the other day by an MOT tester that his and most garages with pass HID's as long as they don't flicker and are ALIGNED properly, which as Nathanio
has said in other posts is the most important factor.

I had an 'X5' kit that hids4u used to sell and they did foul the sheilds. I just bent them out slightly as when i first turned them on they werer touching the sheild and made all the instrument pod lights go out. gulp!!

You all say H7 bulbs fit the Mk 4 Ibiza, but my 04 plate has H4 bulbs in.

Has anyone ever seen this? Cheers.

It's because you have a lower spec model, it has a lens that uses a single bulb ... the Sport/FR/Cupra/Facelift models have two sections on the lens, one the dipped and one for main beams.

What you require is an H4 Bi-Xenon kit that will provide dipped and main beams.
