Is there any reason why cutting the restriction out of the air box causes the maf fault? I am going to fit the green and the pd 160 intake at the weekend. :)

Rolling road sometime next week to see what the old girl is putting out. She's only on 18k so I bet she's still tight.

the only time i think a few people have had MAF faults is when they remove a trumpet end type thing in the airbox itself but some have removed it to no faults  don't think taking it out will be worth risking a MAF fault TBH mate. the PD 160 intake and green filter would be enough:D

ul wanna mod the air intake at in the front pannel as half the air that does get it is lost and air flow is tight but cutting out the flaps and blocking off the hole i recon i got at least 3 times more air getting in there

and what that bit that davels has got a pic of clips into has a slot at the bottom so half the air that is actually getting into the air scoop is lost so i plasic welded it blocked and its all air tight and using every bit of air scooped up

Is that section that you've cut out not angled to direct the air over this gap you talk of?

no its angledlike that to scoop as much air in as possible but then they block half the hole off silly design but this is obviously how much air the standard engine needs:shrug: doing this will let more air in definatly.

anyway if you block that hole off you wont get any airloss problems anyway! just more air :p
