For anyone with a Mk2 Leon, Mk3 Toledo or Altea TDI -
If you ever need a flywheel, you need to know which make is fitted to your car.
There is an inspection aperture in the bellhousing and if you rotate the crank you will see one of the setups below.

The top one is LUK with parallel grooves
The bottom one is SACHS with curved grooves.
Thanks to Flapper for making the pic work :)

Hi David, the pic seems to have disappeared. Do you still have it as it would be really handy to see the difference between the two flywheels.

Cheers!

This is the one :)
If you look thru the inspection aperture in the bellhousing, you can see the markings - either straight or horseshoe shaped
Saying that, if you are replacing flywheel and clutch together then the make doesnt matter - as long as flywheel and clutch match

here ya go - but as David said above if you are replacing both clutch and flywheel then as long as you have matching parts it doesn't matter what is fitted

here ya go - not so sure the starter hole is enough to see but as David said above if you are replacing both clutch and flywheel then as long as you have matching parts it doesn't matter what is fitted
