does anyone know whats up with my car?
last week the problem started...
when i rev my car up to 3000-3500 revs (when the turbo kicks in) it feels as tho its losing power and starts to pull back as tho power is being lost.
any responses will be greatly appretiated...

Ive moved your thread to a more suitable section.

Your going to be looking at a few things. First the turbo should kick in at about 2k rpm, is it not?

Second, could be a duff MAF, or if its going into limp then a turbo vanes or boost hose issue, let us know..

ive had all the hoses checked and had the computer plugged into engine management, this shows that the boost is working fine so still havent found the problem...
obv somehow power is being lost when the turbo kicks in, i have been advised to take the superchip off my car and then im getting the tubro stripped down to hopefully find the problem.
Initial thoughts are the waste gate not functioning properly....will soon find out!
Cheers

Turbo at 3500k?
**** me thats high, I thought it was like 1800rpm andnormally on diesels the power starts to taper off to towards 4200rpm (Until you have it mapped.)

3500 is way too high, all diesel power curves (mapped or otherwise) drop like a stone after 4000 rpm, diesel burns slower than petrol and higher revs don't give the charge enough time to complete combustion. Hence the masses of smoke out of the back of old-fashioned diesels at high revs, and the reason some remapped cars smoke a lot.

I'm guessing you have an AMF engine, which does indeed have a wastegate turbo and not a VNT device. The wastegate may be starting to act at around 3500 rpm, but the turbo boost should be felt from much lower down. Do you know if it is an AMF engine or some other code?

This is not normal behaviour for a diesel engine, and I'd have to suspect the remap first. What gain is claimed for the remap in power terms?

After you do some series of observation that doesn’t work, try to go to a specialist to handle your problem.

the superchip gives 30 bhp more
im guessing it has a wastegate, are there any common problems with the waste gate?
