Hi,

I have an '08 2.0 140 PD DSG Altea XL and need to find the engine number, I'm pretty sure it's a BKD (saw the code on the cambelt cover) but I need someone to confirm where to find it. Am about to order something & don't want to end up with the wrong part.

Sorry to sound like a noob:(

Thanks!

Engine number = engine code + serial number. You'll find it:

* Stamped onto the block at the join between the bellhousing and engine block, near the oil filter.

* On a sticker on the cambelt cover

In addition, the engine code (but not the serial number) can be found

* On a sticker in the boot underneath the carpet: sometimes in the spare wheel bay.

* On a similar sticker in the service book
