Im on 98000 miles on a 54 plate ibiza 130, Ive had it since 82000, and its never missed a beat, only problems so far was the sump plug that had been helicoiled by previous owner and was leaking, and I've put a new sump on now and it leaks round the sump now, but i'll have another go at it soon with some decent sealant should sort it. I did use sealant but doesn't seem to have worked. Oh and im going hybrid turbo with it soon just need clutch sorting then can fit the turbo and get it mapped. I'm hoping to have it upto 150,000 miles with no issues running 220 bhp, And even then I think the only weak point is the head gasket.

Same problem with my tollie PD130. Sump plug was leaking like a pig. Put new sump on with proper VW sealent. Had a bad leak at gearbox end (probably hidden bolts not done up as tightly as I would have liked), so had to redo it all....

Still going strong at 129,500 miles (24,500 miles with remap). Just had to replace the pulley on the alternator as it was making a horrible grinding noise when turning the wheels at idle. £45 at local specialist.

well when I did mine I did it after work and only thought it'd take a minute, I had to use a allen key using the long ball end and a pair of pliers to undo the bolts you're on about there a nightmare, and I tightened them well using same technique. I took the sump off and realised o **** what sealant have we got! anyway found some volvo gasket sealant. and smeared it round new sump then put it on, it seals everywhere else aprt from flywheel end, I scraped of all old sealant from where the old sump had been and dried it all with brake cleaner and a rag, but oil was dripping down from further up, and there must have been some on that end or I didn't put enough sealant on or something because it just weaps out a bit. Can't notice it on dipstick but over time it drips oil on the floor, and I hate knowing that it leaks so will do it again sometime soon, with some more time on my hands and some proper sealant and should cure it. I'm going hybrid turbo soon so want it all perfect for that. Also got an annoying rattle from intercooler pipework against the bumper, forge hose kit for FMIC is **** doesn't fit properly. But again when I have more time will sort it. Only other thing I need now is new wishbone bushes front and back. Most problems with the car have been caused by me ! or previous owner with the sump plug!

Sold my tdi cupra in Novembver last year at 159k, mapped to 220hp and 375lbft it was just getting better all the time used about half a litre every 10k and NEVER did less than 30 mpg no matter how hard I drove it. Miss it terrbibly, some lad at Keighley trade center bought it, hope its going ok. Just wanted to add it truly pi**es all over this Fabia VRS I have in every way, not just the obvious performance difference.

Sounds like you're regretting the sale mate!!! Surely there's scope for improving the vrs?

you reckon? thanks, i'll try n find someway to check it out, i don't have vag com and havent work on any cars for a while, last one i did was a engine rebuild on an escort mk2  so will have to find some info on that some where. i took it to a guy i know who does audis n seats etc, showed up a few faults one on fuel injector on cylinder three, another few hundreds but i aint doing that yet, he reckons on the mass airflow sensor which i can change myself saving a few quid i hope, the temp is reading around 450 when it should be aroun 250 apparantly. if not that i'll probably look for a tin of lighter fuel and a match. like i say, the things cost me bout 1200 quid in last month an that'll be topping 2k by the end of this from the sound of it.
thanks for the tip tho appreciated, anymore wouldn't go amiss.

oh, i noticed the idle has gone up from 800 to about 950 at times

i'm kidding about the matches too, just incase any mr bobby's are reading. lol. i'd use a scrap yard.

105k now - bought her on 55k!

Clutch is on its way out and being replaced by a sachs jobbie on 10th May. Will then be followed by an exhaust (hanging bracket is on its way out) and then a remap!

Still pulls like a train !

I Have a 56 plate 1.9tdi Ibiza ive done 12400 miles (all motorway pretty much) and the car still feels as tight as a drum. I have had no problems with her yet (touch wood) just regular servicing and looking after her has gone a long way. Nothing major to date has been replaced not even a cam belt which still is looking in good shape!! However MpG this past week struggles to get out the 20s but i am putting this down to a bad batch of fuel!

Im not going to lie to you ive had endless problems with my Ibiza!! i should never have bought it! I have nothing against Seats just my car.

I have a 52 Seat ibiza 1.9 tdi sport 130pd and ive had shock problems, anti roll bar problems, abs problems, coolant light keeps coming on and beeps at me. Now ive just had my clock cluster fail. The fuel level doesnt even read and the coolant level is off the scale!

Nightmare!!

To be fair to it it has done 102,000 miles, i work in Oxford and live in Dorset so am traveling quite a bit. And the engine is still pretty good but its just the electrics!

Hi Guys

Mines on 100k at the moment ive not had it long, its got full seat history and as far as I can tell its standard. Thinking of remap in near future was just going to do air box and green filter and remap it....anything I should be looking out for Iam aware remaps can kill clutch's but didnt want an agressive remap anyway.

Cheers
D.

Hi chaps,
My FR 150 TDI is on 112,000 miles, full seat history, ex lease car, 1 previous owner,

only things that have been replaced are, 4 new glow plugs, passenger window regulator,
and a new battery! And that's it. Car has spent 111,000 miles up and down motorways so has minimal clutch wear. And has been run on Tesco diesel for 111,000 miles!

Bought my toledo PD150 with 86k on, had been remapped at around 80k. Clocked 101k now and still running strong pulls like a train in every gear. No problems at all!
