Remapping

Hi all,

I'm thinking about mapping my Ibiza Cupra TDI. Only other mods are a decat. I was just wondering if there was a general rule of thumb as to how much torque the standard clutch will hold before it starts slipping. Would it be ok after a map or would I be better off changing the clutch first?

Cheers

Any idea what it'll make from a decent map?

I know it'll be somewhere around 190bhp, just not sure torque wise

I suppose the only way I'll find out difinitively is to get it mapped and if it slips the. It slips and I'll have to upgrade.

It's impossible to say what your clutch will cope with, it depends how much life is left in it and that's impossible to guess.

The standard clutch can cope with more than 300 lb/ft, but it depends on how smooth and progressive the torque curve is.

I'll just get it done and see if it slips. I'll be looking for more than just a map anyway so I'll need to upgrade eventually
