i decided to give the car a good clean this weekend, and i noticed a little orange sticker behind the rear view mirror, so i took the mirror off, removed the sticker and cleaned it up. when i tried to put the rear view mirror back on this happened:

I bought my old car and it had a crack across the windscreen, from passanger side egde to middle of the screen, had it there for month or so. Then some tw@ who was drunk decided to hit it and the whole screen sider cracked. cost me £70 through insurance, didn't affect policy at all.

If it doesn't absuct your view while driving, you can still drive with it till you sort it out.

P.S. is that an old cream mini in the first pic, lurking in the back ground?

Loving the car mate! I've just bought a FR myself, what air filter did you go for in the end?

Its 2004, prefacelift in Black. Loving it at the minute, I just need some money so I can start modding it :)

it was £35, then you'll need an oil breather too, that was another £12. I've not got round to fitting my breather as its not a standard connection, so i've just wrapped a sock around it and cable tied it on - get it lowered and it'll look loads better straight away mate

Back end of your car looks low you got a body in boot ;)

haha, what happened is we took the adjuster cups out...

with the cups in:

with the cups out:

this is the amount of drop i gained:

and the car looked like this:

i love it being that low but the front coilovers were wound down to the minimum raise and the front still looks higher... that and it feels unsafe throwing the cars into corners - so the cups are going back on, only i'm going to keep the adjusting rings out then lower the front to suit

I'm glad someone agrees with me that the handling is horrible with the adjuster cups out! :D When I had the adjuster cups out, it felt like the car was gonna skip off the road around bends on A-roads

I have the same setup as that mate but im going to put the cups back in without the rings on them lol

yeah thats what i've done, the cups are back in, and bolted through the bottom so they're not going anywhere, and i've taken the rings off, so i reckon i've gained about another 10mm or so on the rear

it never felt like it was going to skip off, but you can definitely feel the back letting go a lot sooner, i think its because the front is higher - it just made the handling go to piss

pic of ya jack

cheers man, definitely looks low on the back haha

That's dangerous how you have them at the mo aswell, by removing the whole lot. You sticking the cups back in but just keeping the cups out?

the cups are back in mate, but i've left the ring off, i suppose the spring doesn't sit completly flat to the top of the cup like it does on the ring but i reckon with the weight of the car on top i think it'll hold alright, doesn't the standard suspension sit on the lugs without being bolted through the bottom anyway?
