Hi all,

New poster here.

I drive a 62 plate seat leon, I am currently having an issue with my vehicle where I am getting a message appear that states Electronic stability control error and stop start error, when this message appears the ESC light and tyre pressure light comes on the dash board and occasionally the engine management light comes on and I lose power when accelarating, the lights are not always on and it is intermintent. I have changed the battery as I was informed it may be a battery issue to which I have had no luck. I have also taken it to an auto electrician who has suggested it could be something to do with an air leak on the vehicle somewhere however he could not pin point it and I would need to wait for the lights to remain on permenantly.

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issues and what the fix was for the problem and the cost of this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys

I’m still having the following lights come on my dash, does anyone know what could be causing them as my local garage isn’t sure at this time

Could it be ABS sensors? Do you have access to a VCDS or ODBEleven (code readers)?

That would be able to tell you what's going on.

The garage that I go to have used a device that they have and it has stated that it is an air leak but no idea where it is coming from

I have also heard something about throttle position does anyone know if this could effect it ?

Really you need to either bite the bullet and get a VAG specialist to diagnose and fix it, or get a diagnostic interface and read the fault codes so you have an idea of where to look if you want to try fixing it yourself.

OBDeleven seems to be a popular choice for diagnostic interfaces with people on here, though I haven't used it myself as I have a genuine VCDS cable.

Unless you start narrowing it down to more specific things you'll just keep going round in circles. In my opinion it's pointless to replace things because they 'might' be at fault (like the battery you mentioned in the first post).

Also, for people trying to help you it's far easier to have actual fault codes to work off rather than vague descriptions.

"I've got fault code xxxxx saying inlet manifold air pressure is lower than expected" is significantly more helpful than "garage used a device and said air leak"
