Fitting a centre armrest

I've just ordered an Arona SE Tech DSG on a PCH deal and was wondering if anybody would know where to get a part number for the centre armrest that is fitted to Excellence models and SE Tech first edition, or indeed whether it would be possible to obtain the part for retro-fit.

Like others have mentioned on here it's a big jump up in price to next spec but it's only the centre armrest that I'd seriously miss from our current Leon.

Hope they will make one available now or in the near future.

I would also be looking at this I have ordered the SE Tech as well but manual

I think we will have to wait and see as regards fitting I will miss the folding mirrors but as you know NO extras Just a Big price Jump to the Next Model

Hopefully the part will materialise at some point as a retro/dealer fit as I'm sure the demand will be there with the rigid spec/model structure.
I do like the decision to make all the colours/roof variations FOC though...you got that one right SEAT !

Thanks for the link @Curtly. Looks like it might be an expensive option though @ £350 just for parts.

EDIT:
..Although now that @alanplum has confirmed it can be fitted and removed without damage to the centre console I might be tempted to invest once we have the car.

I've been looking into this too. The lack of centre armrest in anything but the Excellence trims was a bit of a bummer until I read the Ibiza forum.

I've only just put in and order for a FR Sport 1.5 so I won't get the car till April time, but I'll certainly be giving this a go I think! (If I can confirm the part number for the leatherette arm rest, the cloth one doesn't look right with the leather and alcantara seats.)

Mentioned this at SEAT media day yesterday to the Arona product Manager for SEAT UK, I said to them that they need to sell the arm rest as an accessory or even optional extra that can be fitted by dealer once it arrives.

We're talking about the company that deliberately orders all its new cars without the £100 (or less) spare wheel option just so it can then sell the exact same wheels through the dealer network for two or three times the price...

...of course there will be a dealer-fitted armrest - just don't expect it to be cheap!

I think Seat UK management must have actually been listening to @AndrewJB, as I've just found out via Mike at Listers there's now an armrest part on the Seat accessories website.

http://www.seataccesoriescatalogue.net/en/product/product/45/1558/4252

More importantly it's a lot cheaper than the list of parts previously required that @alanplum listed and fitted to his Ibiza on that thread.

I requested a quote from Mike and ordered one myself here.

Might help owners sitting on the fence not wanting to pay £300 odd for one...

Collected mine from the post office today.

I'll post a few photos soon, which confirm the new 'kit' simply comprises the list of parts @alanplum ordered on the Ibiza thread just all in one box.

I can't post photos of fitting yet as I don't have a car to fit it to for another few weeks. It was built last week and apparently in transit to the port..getting closer.

Hi @Briant566.

If you get your order in sharpish I'm sure Mike will get one to you quickly.
He charged me £98 delivered so bargain compared to the individual part prices posted for the Ibiza one previously.

I had a collection card left on Thursday from parcelforce and didn't realise It was going to be the armrest so soon tbh..

It feels a quality piece of kit like most VAG parts and comes with instructions in the bag of smaller parts and looks easy enough. 10 minute install according to @alanplum.

Roll on end of March..

Will ring him tomorrow and order one and hope its a easy fit :D think we need it as one criticism of the Arona was lack of storage

PhilYerBoots, could you take some pictures of the instructions please when you've got a moment? I want to know how involved it is and what tools and things will be needed as my dealer has quoted me 1hr labour (£45!!) to fit even though apparently it's a 5-10 minute job
