Hi,

I'm off to to the CUPRA Brand press launch on Thu 22nd Feb and will be lucky enough to have time with the CEO and other senior people from SEAT. I'll be sharing pictures and insights as soon as I can but the day's content is embargoed until the evening, but I'm keen to capture any questions you'd like me to ask.

As this is all about CUPRA and the future we need to keep them on topic so fire away below. What would you like to know?

Cheers,

Scott

Dilution of the brand - how do they maintain the 'halo' effect, while calling it something different?

Considering the square footage of many of the UK dealers, will they dual brand the sites, corner off the room? How will they showcase the models, when most dealers only manage one (max) of each model?

Where does the connection to Seat cease for example servicing, finance and parts?

Will Cupra only use existing Seat models or develop their own in time?

Is there likely to be an introduction of in-house warranty friendly tuning options similar to the likes of Ford?

wow I was not even aware of this happening...

my initial thoughts include:
* does this mean that the cupra models (I mean brand..) will have a larger increase in price when compared to the seat range than at current?
* does this mean there will be clearer differentiation between cupra and seat models. (guess links to previous question)
* will this guarantee 'protection' of the Cupra brand, - ie at end of production runs where previously CUPRA only specifications are provided on 'special edition' SEATS.
* will there be separate and more expensive servicing for cupra models.
* will SEAT/CUPRA have full freedom to develop models without influence from the rest of the VAG group.
* Return of CUPRA racing series? perhaps even F1 is VAG ever enter...

and most importantly, which I presume will become clear at launch, will the SEAT badges be replaced with a completely different logo - perhaps as is currently shown on https://www.cupraofficial.com/ (I have taken this to be the case)

For SCN: If we do see a rebadging, ( I read it that we will) - will we be able and see people rebadging their cars retrospectively?

Will this mean Cupras that are more driver focussed?

How do Cupra versions of the Ateca and Arona fit in with CUP-RAcing?

Will having dedicated dealers increase the price and decrease accessibility?

Will we see more traditional Cupra colours again instead of 50 shades of grey?

Will we have more interesting sounding cars (e.g. exhaust, intake, turbo) to mask over the rattles? :p

In light of the leaked Ibiza Cupra pictures, will the copper detailing feature on all Cupras? It looks a bit tacky and would really put me off!

ouch, just taken a look, the CUPRA badge shape is ok, but on the Ibiza pics its set on a background of the same plastic/colour so it looks like a boring arrow head shape.
Copper colouring is not nice IMO.

Please would you get clarity on;
- Whether existing Seat dealers will continue to supply and service Cupra models
- If not what when the changes will take place
- And what happens to orders already placed for Cupra models through Seat dealers (Leon 300 to replace 290 in July in my case)

Thank you

From the bulletin sent out to the dealer network on 18th December:

"All SEAT Dealers will continue to sell standard CUPRA models, but selected CUPRA specialists will provide an enhanced level of expertise and customer experience."

Basically, no change.
