Yesterday I bought my self a Cupra R 225.... Finally! It's got full SEAT service history, cambelt and water pump were done at 63500 and she's just clocked over 64000. All old MOT and tax documents, with a folder full of old reciepts for things like exhaust, and discs and pads all genuine vw parts. The paint work isn't the best, the front looks like magic black with all the stone chips and the back looks more like ebony black! (It's ebony black I believe) I think £500 on paint and it'll be perfect, it needs both bumpers and bonnet respraying and a few odd scratches sorting out.
Here is my old FR tdi and my new 225 on the way home from Bradford.

Here she is after a little turtle wax black to cover some chips for now.

There are a few areas that need some tlc, she needs a new splitter, wheels and the brakes front and back need a refurb.

The interior is mint! Minus a little wheel and gearknob wear which I'll sort out this weekend, not a single bit of bolster wear on the drivers seat!

Ill get a forge pipe in black to the bmc cda, which will match the other pipes I will purchase.

I'm going away again for a 3 month holiday next week, but I plan on getting the new splitter on, possibly a 007p, refurb the brembos order new number plates and get an aero rear wiper arm.
The future will bring a badger5 tip, forge boost pipes, polished inlet and charge pipe, refurbed wheels, n249 delete, badger5 stage 1 milltek non res cat back and all the other stuff like poly bushes etc. I love it by the way, such different delivery of the power compared to my pd150. Not such a fan of the fuel consumption though, but I bought it as I was bored so I shall not moan!

Nice upgrade mate with a bit of tlc will look great! Just a quick one with the filter i think the BMC's are quite restrictive on the LCR

If you're gonna get a T.I.P then you should get one of the bigger ones from SFS or Badger 5.

Edit: Never mind just saw that's what you have planned!

v2,2 is the best for flow yes, but dont ruin it with e cda hanging on the end of it... loose all the gains it brings you. cda suck.. very restrictive compared to a jr open cone for example.

Thanks a lot Bill, are there any filters that you'd recommend to go with a v2.2 that are black as I want both a theme and the gains? I don't think I'll take it past stage one either to be honest, so I'm not going silly like putting the battery in the boot for a massive cone.

I've just bought some billet anodised washers and stainless screws for under the bonnet, 3x R badges, another connects2 and 3.5mm jack for aux, (got a poverty spec tape deck) some butyl tape for the dodgy door seals, 4x white led lights which I'll put in the door cards as welcome lights, and I've got a genuine brand new cruise stalk at home which I bought for my FR that didn't get fitted. I'm planning in a trip to forge this weekend for the two upper boost pipes and maybe a 007p.

No to be honest I do love the interior I have got, it is mint! I'm seriously planning to go for oem+ with this one, so interior, wheels, brakes will stay I just want to get the paint detailed wether that's done by me with some Gucci kit or by someone else I don't know. I want to get a 007p, milltek cat back non res and a few forge hoses and I'm hoping the konigs can find this.
I do remember your paint being quite bad but still this is really bad! I hate looking at it up close, puts me off the car compared to the FR paintwork.

Few little things I have done to spruce the car up in the last week.
Firstly I had her on a ramp last week and this is what I was greeted with.

Got an excuse for a cobra turbo back there and a few licks of hammerite.
Took a trip to Forge Motorsport as they're only 5 minutes down the road and came away with a few little goodies 007p being one, it was all discounted as it was a counter sale so no admin costs etc so I'll be heading there quite a lot I think. Also some little niff naff stuff like badges to tidy the outside up.

I haven't wired the connects2 up yet as this one needs a separate earth so I'll be ripping the glove box out after my next 3 month holiday!

I've got a quote for a full front respray, 5x alloy refurb in an oem ish colour and a few areas tidied e.g scratches and scuffs and a full machine polish for when I'm back! Can't wait to be back and I haven't even left lol. Happy reading.

Bought an oem leon arm rest and a 3 button flip key last night, also I plan to have this stuff waiting for me when I'm home.

2.0 coils and adapters. £150
Cobra non res cat back. £320
Powerflex wishbone and dogbone bushes. £130
Badger5 v2.2 complete induction. £280
Various Forge hoses. £200

I've also decided to leave the front end respray until after my next trip here which ends sometime in may, I just think the better weather will do the paint good rather that it being sprayed in the cold.

I had the cda on my tdi as I knew they weren't good for flow but the diesels don't actually gain anything anyway, I'm either going to get red Forge boost pipes and a red v2.2 with red cone or everything black with a piperx filter. I'd prefer black but none seem to be as good as the jr filters and I can't stand colours not matching! Can't wait to get home to have a play! Anybody know of any good flowing black in colour cones as? No point in getting the best k04 tip if I have a rubbish filter on the end. Cheers.
