Dislikes:
Black plastic bit between bonnet and windscreen.
I caught passenger seat when changing to 2nd.
Red trip computer on black background distracted from while dials and didn't match centre console.
Front end.
No glovebox light.
No lights on buzzer (salesmen said it would have turned them off after 30sec...)
Sloped window made car and roof feel very close.
Mirrors didn't fold in on the move.
Accelerator came from floor up, solid. Could get used to it.
Ash tray cup thing.

Likes:
Seats. Better than mine and lumbar. Nice colour effect too.
ESP.
White dials.
Arse end.
Dual climate.
Rear door handles.
Engine, quiet & smooth.
Steering wheel controls, miss them.

Thats true its the see you home thing so you can find your way to the front door etc.

I agree about the rake of the front screen makes it all feel very close.

Doubt it. I've only had mine 5 months. They tried telling me the new FR TDi will have 200bhp though... Will keep mine for at least 4yrs when it will have 120k on it.

If I get bored of it I'll chip it.

I assume it wasn't the TFSi you had delivered VWSurfBum?

How did you find the suspension - too many journalists are complaining it's too hard?

it is hard, we have one of those too, if your just gonna do trips to the shops it is very hard, if ya gonna drive it like you stole it then it is far better than the leon mk1 fr and cupra (not r)
great fun machine!

That's exactly what I thought!

Are these strikes having any knock-on effect to the new car deliveries?

I'm still waiting to here mine is built and on it's way!

Re the folding mirrors, these don't fold in when on the move in my Leon (Mk1), but tried the Altea yesterday on the way home and hey presto, folded in. :D You'd think the new Leon would be the same.

Odd... they do on my Leon FR. I know they do it at motorway speeds as I had a bit of newspaper whip up and get stuck onto the drivers side wing mirror. Thought it was going to be a pain to open the window and dislodge it and then realised I could flick the mirrors in and back out - worked a treat! :D

Well I've put 1500 miles on mine now.
Black plastic bit - can't see it from driving position so don't care.
Never been a problem shifting the gears....
Red trip 'puter was a problem until I turned the brightness waaaaay down. Still very visible and not distracting.
No glove box light is a pita agreed.
My lights turn off fine.
Kinda agree on the sloping roof line but the beige/light colouring of the roof really helps.
Mirrors, err mine do.
Love the accelerator, much preferred to the other style.
Don't smoke, stupid "ashtray" never likely to see the inside of the car again.
Agree with most of the likes but...

My not quite as much likes......
Rear door handles.... all design but I have concerns about longevity of the plastic quarter window and jewelery.
Fuel econ. For a derv it's not been great, barely above 40 - 41 mpg at the "motorway cruise" speed that I do. Might sound tight but if I'd known it would be that low I would have gone for the tfsi.

All in all I'm very glad I got it although I'm looking forward to checking out the Cupra and the new CTR when out.

Thats is a little low, but the engine is a very long way from run in. From what I've read the MPG will increase gradually as it frees up.
