This is rekindling my interest in road trips, you will have to stop, I've too much to do this year
We stopped at Le Mans on the way to La Rochelle a few years back.
Didnt manage to get pics on the circuit tho, just a few around the main stands.
Mark, you sure that ferry was doin 67 mph ?

No idea, I just re-tweeted m0rk's post. Last time I was on a ferry was more than 20 years ago.

Brittany Ferries claim 180mins (3 hour) crossing from Pompey to Cherbourg.

EDIT.

Based on the distance its about 90-100 miles as the crow flies, so bear in mind getting out of port and into port etc, full chat sustained for 2.5hours over that distance could be around 40mph, but it depends how long its at full chat for, it might only be at full speed for part of the journey, so could well have a higher top speed than I'm able to calculate due to not knowing where it can be at full speed and where it can't

About 90 miles at a guess.
We did Poole to Cherborg but that was on a normal ferry and took about 5 hours.
Only been on a Seacat once and that was Dover to Boulogne, does feel quick when you are overtaking all the normal ones that have left before you
I'd guess at around 30 knots.

It varied a little, but the GPS speedo on my phone picked it up at 67 at one point (and around that for a while) but did settle at just over 40mph.

It was mighty quick though

Speaking to both of them last night, I think they are favourably impressed with the FR derv.

Fairly spritely performance and great economy.

Always wanted to go to the Milau Bridge ever since seeing a program on Discovery about its construction.
An incredible feat of engineering. The architect was British iirc.
