i guess what it means is, if the beam pattern is as good as standard halogens then all is okay! If the light is all over the shop and going to dazzle drivers, no good!

This year's worry - the DPF

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/n...iculate-filter

If you've had it done "properly" (removing the internals only, leaving the casing, and having the software adjusted) then you might be alright. I would assume that the DPF warning light still needs to come on during initialisation of the panel, and then go out, any other behaviour would indicate a fault.

If you've had the DPF physically removed, then you're probably screwed (dodgy tester aside)...

Looks like a decatted diesel is an MOT failure now; as is a diesel with no DPF where one was fitted as standard. Cats have been mandatory on all cars for a good number of years so most people on here are probably out of luck on that, with a DPF you may be able to persuade the tester that your car didn't have one depending on age.

It also doesn't say whether it's just a visual check so if you've had your DPF gutted and replaced with straight pipe inside the DPF casing then you might be alright, depends whether they do any kind of electronic check I guess and whether the de-DPF software fakes the response of a DPF in good condition or not.

Its a visual check, best route now is to gut your DPF/CAT still leaving the casing in place.

Removal of petrol cat's has been illegal for years but we still do it.
