MFD / bluetooth?!

Hi all,

Just about to buy a second hand yellow Leon FR! Looking forward to some good driving around in it.

However, I've got one question about the MFD. Looking at the forums, it seems that the larger MFD is an indication that the car has bluetooth fitted. Is this correct?! One of the cars I test drove had the larger display but the dealer said there wasn't bluetooth installed. I thought the difference in displays was just a later mod or something! But now I am thinking he was wrong...

Also, got any advice for a first time Leon owner?

Cheers.

This is an interesting question. My FR has the larger MFD and it also has the Bluetooth communication pack.

I thought the MDF came with all FR's as standard, however from the question asked it might just be featured on those that have the Bluetooth factory fitted too?

I say this as for comparison, my partner owns a Mk2 Leon Stylance, which doesnt have a larger MDF, but still has a small display within the Dials, that can be changed to display current mpg, speed, clock etc.

Yeah I saw a FR with the smaller display while I was shopping around so I assumed it didn't have bluetooth. However, it was an 07 plate. The others I have seen with the larger displays have been 57 and 08 so is it a newer fit on later models and nothing to do with bluetooth maybe?!

You can also tell the difference from the steering buttons, as it will have the phone ones on the left.

They only way it won't have bluetooth is if someone has retrofitted the MFD without bluetooth, which would be odd to say the least.

I have Bluetooth & large MFD.

As above, check steering wheel controls on left side as will have phone buttons.
You could also go back for another test drive & turn your phones bluetooth on to see if it picks up the car. If it does then you have Bluetooth!!
Must say works really well & worth having.
