SCAM WARNING - Beware

Just to let you know someone else is selling my K1 - It's For Sale in Autotrader for under 10K. (SCAM)

This was brought to my attention by Carr20vt (Garry) Cheers pal!;)

I emailed the seller to enquire about purchasing my car!!
The seller says the car is in Madrid and if I send him the money I can expect to receive the car within a few weeks, I've asked for more pictures via email and the seller has kindly sent me around a dozen pictures of my car outside my house!! Here's what he said:

Hello,

The car is located in Madrid, Spain and so am I. We've recently moved to Spain and brought it with us.It's in showroom condition, no scratches, no dents, accident-free.2008 SEAT LEON CUPRA and still UK registered. RHD, UK supplied (NOT AN IMPORT).6,200 miles. The price I'm after is 9,990 pounds sterling including delivery to your home address and full insurance during shipping. Please let me know if you're interested so I can provide you with further details.

Thanks for your interest

This is atrocious behaviour - please don't fall for it!!

The email address of the seller is [email protected]

The seller has stolen the pictures from this website, I'm wondering if he/she is a member of SEATCUPRA.NET and if so can a member of admin trace the email address!!

:help:

No such email being used by any signed up member. Sadly most images are openly sourced even if they are viewing the forum as guests. In fact Google images will likely trawl in a lot of images from SCN.

Have you reported it to Autotrader?

I noticed the ad has now been removed from Autotrader, maybe Garry reported it..
I'm still trying to buy my car privately though via email.

That is why its always a good reason to watermark your images.. :)

good thinking there

Since owning the Cupra, I've not posted a single pic showing my reg plate. I didn't give a toss about the 1.4. But the cupra, I blank all plates!

Think it's worthwhile spending an extra minute or so just adding a watermark on there

I had this with and Audi A3 TDi S-Line a while back that I was interested in buying. Apparently it was in the Czech Republic and all I needed to do was send him the money and I'd get my car delivered to my door. Needless to say, I didn't email back.

Always blank out my number plates and VIN plates if have shots of the engine bay too.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Not saying this is the car, but there is a forum members car for sale on here like that and its a scam

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=207856

To compare, 2007 Cupras are going for about that price - that seems way too cheap for a car less than 6 months old with those miles, or it could just be someone needing the money?

Happy Birthday by the way :)
