1 owner Nov 57 plate tdi fr in immaculate condition, 44k miles (long distance commuter to europe every week) four services stamped in book. Has a few stone chips but nothing else. Interior is like brand new and outside is pretty much too. has usual FR stuff plus I pod dock under drivers seat. Drives like new too, no rattles all nice and tight.

10k private purchase, good or not ? oh, and it's in red.

Any opinions welcome

According to CAP trade price is £9750 based on the miles and not allowing for extras, Suppose I'm just looking for comfirmation that i'm not paying over the odds. Having looked around, the TFSI seems much cheaper but I need a diesel unfortunately.

Go for it, get the front painted and it's all sorted.

It doesn't need a repaint really, not huge number of stone chips - unlike the Golf Gti Edition 30 I just sold

Needed to get a better 'family' waggon to accomodate all our camping kit and second child who is on the way. Golf had to go, replaced by the most sensible boring car in the world ever,,,,,, the VW Touran:(

Means my budget for car plus mods is £13k

So generally £10k sounds a fair price then ?

Yeah if its up for 10k always make a lower offer, they will put it up for 10k knowing they will let it go for less. Ill say you can easy get it down to 9,750 long as service is done like you said the car is under warrant till november 2010, seems ideal you know.

Just do a HPI check to make sure

Sounds a good price to me, spoke to a dealer today about my 56 with 70k miles and he's offering 7.5k for a forecourt price of 10k.

Check out the prices on trader and there is nothing FR based less than £9.5K

That sounds a very decent price for an 07 FR in immaculate condition. Does it have Bluetooth?
Aside from my own Black FR, next colour choice would have been Red! :)

Nice touch is to get the front bumper bottom splitter section painted Black, really makes a nice contrast. ;)

Enjoy your new Ride!

Hi, yep has bluetooth, voice activation, ipod dock, plastic shaped boot liner, mfsw, cruise. Maybe other bit's ?

Hasn't got zenons, but I don't mind that as I hate the fact that nearly every maker fits auto headlight washers with zenons and you end up spraying the front end of your car with water every third of fourth time you use the wipers [:@]

Also, it's running 17's, but I'm not bothered about that as I'll be sticking either some Edition 30 Pescaras on in dark anthracite, or possibly some standard diamond cut mk 5 gti alloys, oh, and I'll hit it with a lowering stick too :D

Really looking forward to 30mpg plus with a heavy boot :)

Jeez that's cheap. Rip their arm off.

I assume you've done all the vital checks to make sure it's 100%.

Yep all checked, chassis number, engine number, log book etc all against HPI.

Checked the car, no issues at all - happy bunny, roll on saturday.

I did love my Gti ED30 but i had to drive like a granny to get decent economy

What I'm looking at doing here is having the front and back bit's wrapped in matt weave carbon effect viynal;

I'm sure this sounds a bit :w4nk: and MAX POWER ish, but I've seen it done on some red golf GTI's and personally I thought it looked very good. The other option is matt/satin black viynal.
