Defeating ESP on a MK2 Leon Cupra R

Hi all,

I've been trying to find a way to disable the ESP on my MK2 20140 LCR. The technical support at Ross Tech confirmed it is possible, through VCDS, but are unwilling to share how to do it.

I tried APR's ESP defeat, but that didn't work, but apparently it is doable, as demonstrated in a video I saw on YouTube (as I'm not allowed to post links, due to low post count, just search for "Seat Leon MK2 ESP/ESC Off VCDS Vagcom Adanavag" on YouTube to see the video)

Any ideas?

I'll give it a try and report back.

Update: So, it seems my car has the AH pump (1K0 907 379 AH), which is not supported by this method. The search continues.

Whats up with the turn off esp button on the centre console?
Far as I know it turns off the tc, but if you push the car hard the electronic 'diff' can cut in and make the esp light flash.

In the MK2 Cupra & Cupra R the button disables the ASR but not the ESP/ESC. I'm trying to find a way to disable (not permanently) the ESP as well.

On Golf R, for example, pressing for a few seconds on the button, disables the ESP too.

I believe that this was the case ever since the mk6 Golf and therefore also the facelift Leon and Octavia. I'm sure I remember Tiff Needell harping on about this whilst testing the GTi on a track, saying how much worse the mk6 was compared to the mk5 for just that reason.

I know on my pre facelift when the system is turned off, it is off.

Indeed, any real sports car mustn't apply the brakes when the driver isn't and sadly the MK6 GTI as well as the MK2 Cupras fail in this department. Hopefully this hack will work for the Cupra as well.
