Yes, you are correct. Searched the forums yesterday and found the same information. But until I've seen it myself I don't believe it =)

Differential

At the very end of this project I'll AWD convert to ensure grip is not an issue. The search for an AWD differential was initiated and I ended up ordering the Wavetrac version.
The concept of how the Wavetrac operates and the options of adjusting how aggressively the diff transfers torque from the wheel with less traction to the wheel where the determining reasons for selecting it.
More about the Wavetrac technology can be found in the attached links.

By fitting a AWD differential I'm able to mount the angle drive and convert the 02Q gearbox to a AWD version.
Alternatively I could have purchased a used 02Q AWD gearbox but it would not be logical as I already have a 02Q gearbox in good condition.

Update

Some of you might have been confused by my "AWD differential" statement, what is a AWD differential? Reason for me naming it an "AWD differential" is because it will enable me to fit the angle drive to the gearbox.
The outgoing axle from the differential connects to the angle drive and then to the CV shaft. The "2WD differential" has a different outgoing axle and spline design, thus not compatible with the angle drive.

At the moment the engine is being prepared for the jump back into the engine bay. In coming posts I'll share some pictures of the event.

I've been working on connecting all the electrical switches and sensors and now have it almost fully worked out. Not a plug and play task as switches and sensors are not wired the same way.
Comparing electrical schematics and finding the correct wires has been time consuming. Schematics are great assistance but unfortunately the wire color coding is not always correct, go figure...

Indeed slowly getting there.
All electrical non-engine related features that I want are now integrated and working.

Engine progress

My engine mechanic has been taking pictures of the build process but I haven't manged to get them yet.

I manged to snap some pictures myself during the process.

Engine coolant feed and oil return being machined into the block. For details read my post regarding the engine block: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=4632595&postcount=29
