My local Seat dealer quoted £405 incl. waterpump, parts, labour and vat. Which isnt too bad, although I'm taking mine to an independant on monday as its cheaper and I know he'll do a top notch job

Hi BlackIce,

Thanks for your responce

I have just got a quote for 5th year service and timing belt change from a South London dealer its £758.84 the belt is costing £478.81 I dont think they change the water pump thats extra. Can anybody tell me where I can get a reasonable priced service near Sutton Surrey also near Croydon & Kingston upon Thames@ Bear in mind my car has only got 34563 on the clock its done 3557 miles this year as I was clocked up in hospital and living on a pension so cant splash out loads of dosh.
Once again thanks BlackIce.

I'd goto the Seat website and see where your local-ish dealers are. Failing that, try and hunt out some VAG specialist centres.

Ended up taking mine to one of these, and the *******s just rinsed me £437.00 all in for cambelt, waterpump, oil change, oil filter change, fuel filter change and a bulb

where are the Vag specialists

I did that and around £700 was generaly asked by Seat dealers. I cannot find Vag specialists, who I take it, will service VW's Seat and Audi. I telephone a VW specialist and it was like puting a cross in front of a Vampire they told me on no circumstances doe they maintain Seat's. I'm at a loss as what to do next perhaps someone knows a garage near Sutton Surrey SM1

I dont want be rinsed or hung out to dry

my local seat quoted me £520, local VW £400, P-Torque £350. that includes the waterpump aswell.

mine had its first one done at 75k, now on 138k so 3k past the interval of 60k. iam going with p-torque as its local and a sponsor on here.

the last time i heard officially it was 4years or 40k across the vw range, it was an official seat document.

we always advise them at 4years and no later than 60k. We charge £330inc VAT which includes a genuine timing belt kit (belt, tensioner, roller, new securing nuts), coolant flush/change and water pump.

got told 80,000 or 4 yrs by seat dealer, who i bought the car from new.

for the later models and CR engines yes

The 4 years regardless of milage I guess is cause the belts perish over time

this is also correct - all belts now have a belt change interval of 4 years regardless of engine

interv is 80k miles or 4years

as said above - later 2.0tdi pd engines and CR engined models 80k or 4 years, pd engines from 2004-2007 60k or 4 years and the early pd engine with the hydraulic tensioner is 40k or 4 years.

More than certain that last year all that was dropped and it was 40k or 4 years regardless

OK Me again car has just gone over 124k when should I look at doing the belt again?

Should now be due its second belt mark.
