Hi guys

Been reading the forum ever since I got my Cupra 280 last October but just never posted anything so I thought it was time for a readers ride thread.

Here is my Cupra 280 DSG in dynamic grey, photos were taken on different days with different weather so you can really see the colour change!

Hello Aaron. Some great mods planned there. If you want any advice or suggestions there are some very knowledgeable people on here. :)

Your Cupra looks sweet mate, but I'm biased! ;)

So today I have ordered a BCS Powervalve quad tip cat back exhaust system for the cupra, 4 week waiting time at the moment but it will be worth it! Will post pics as soon as I get it

Small mod. Bought the 034motorsport lower torque arm insert after all the good things I had heard about it on here. Had it fitted today and there is definitely a big difference to the way the car now drives. There are slightly more vibrations felt through the steering wheel and on startup but it's not too much to be annoying. The main difference is now the wheel hop has been reduced a lot. After it was fitted the roads were wet, but still the only time I got it to hop the wheels was in first gear and flooring it. Another thing is more engine noise is now heard in the cabin, it sounds much better than the fake sound actuator so I'm happy :) I can't wait to take it out in the dry and see how much of a difference it's made properly.

Can definitely recommend this mod to any cupra owner, a great mod for under £50!

where did you get the lower torque arm from?

I got it from Awesome gti. I had it in 2 days of ordering so good service!

There's 2 versions though so easiest way to get the right one is use your phone to take a video of the underside of the car and play back the footage to see which version you need.

thanks

did you fit it yourself? am guessing the car needs to be jacked up and the engoine / arms supported?

Nice mods but might be biased, as I've done mostly the same or similar or planned similar lol
Only thing I'm still uncertain about, is going 034 insert or change lower mount completely or just get grippier tires...

Thanks! I think the mount insert is a great little mod for the money. I'm not sure how it would compare to the full lower mount upgrade, but the combination of the insert and Michelin pilot super sport tyres the way the car feels to drive hard is much much better. As long as you don't mind a little more vibrations felt at around 1500rpm and on start up, I'd say it's definitely worth trying out!

Yeah well I guess I don't mind some slight vibrations, I already got some of it from my fully built exhaust haha.

thanks for sharing the pdf and that is double easy to fit once on the ramps.

I need to check under the car to see which one I have, v1 or v2.

my car is a 66 plate cupra 290.

Today my BCS Powervalve cat back system finally turned up. Been waiting nearly 9 weeks but it was well worth it. The quality of the welds and parts is amazing, and the tailpipes look incredible! Hopefully getting it fitted next week :)

Great service from Nige and the guys at powervalve!

That looks great and should be pretty loud when you want it to.

Quad tip looks the nuts on these in my eyes ,
Any plans on a link to a video for the sound ?

Yeah I think so too, so much nicer than the stock oval pipes. I'm going to upload a couple to youtube hopefully later today, will link them once its done :) The videos really don't show how nice the sound is though
