Hi guys, welcome to my thread for my 2008 Seat Leon K1!

I am a VAG enthusiast at heart, however I have taken a dabble in all sorts of hi powered Jap motors... yet always find myself returning to ze Germans...

Not a seat newbie though, I had a flame spitting 340 bhp 04 MK1 LCR back in the day with an upgrade list longer than my arms. Would be interesting to see if thats still driving around..... VX54 XSP

The K1 is a car I have always wanted to get my hands on, there are not many GENUINE ones around (loads with the kit on, or shall i say fake :cartman: ).

I love the btcc kit and the centre exhaust, goes without saying I am very happy with my purchase! :funk:

Anyway, to the car. The car was completely standard when I bought it apart from a remap. I am not sure who done it, however the car feels like it has over 300 BHP. This is something i wanted to change as it could be some mickey mouse software on the ecu. Not sure if you can tell who remapped it from plugging in a vagcom unit / fault reader???

Plenty of parts on my wishlist, although I have learnt that the 2.0 tfsi tuning world is not cheap at all.

PLANNED WORKS:
- Remap (eventually Stage 2, has to be Revo!)
- Full exhaust system inc decat & downpipe
- Induction Kit
- Alloy Rad / Intercooler
- Bigger turbo (TTE maybe???)
- Lowering springs / coilovers
- New wheels
- Black off badges / debadge. Maybe black roof wrap
- Window tints

Any other suggestions are welcome, you guys are the experts.

I hope you enjoy the thread, I will get some pics up soon.

D

Induction kit install

Today i fitted a neuspeed pflo induction kit to the K1.

Was a piss easy job to do and took around half hour, longest bit was trying to get the clamps off the original intake pipe with one hand while trying to pull the pipe off with the other!!! If you can get some help here it will do you well.....

Here are some pics

I haven't fitted the heat shield as yet, I needed a multi spline socket which I dont have.

However, the improvements to the car are immense, the induction noise is great and the turbo whooooshing and whistling is much louder and improved. Sounds awesome. Noteable power delivery improvements as well.

Shout out to Al @ Awesome GTi for the parts!

Next: Exhaust.....

Nice k1! Only thing id say is you.should have got a revo intake over the p-flo one. The difference is night and day powerwise

Im quite happy with the power gains + delivery + sounds on this one....

I spoke to various garages + specialists and they all had a huge difference if opinion on them, much of a muchness.... Revo would be a newer product so I imagine this to be slightly better, however again I was told you would only notice when pushing 400+ bhp.

They look practically the same, the main difference is the filter element, where Revo use foam and Neuspeed use cotton.

The revo one is a much larger diameter bore. 70mm compared to revos 90mm.

Ah well. 90mm sounds huge for an intake pipe. The neuspeed looks exactly the same even pipe diameter wise. Maybe I will review this in the future.....

Im happy with what I have got at the moment, more than enough power and sounds gains :D

Finally got round to removing the standard head unit and put something a bit more fancy in...

Huge improvement in sound quality even with standard speakers..... my inner 'yoof' is telling me to put a small sub in the boot now...

I highly recommend H&R springs, plus they give a more even drop than Eibach.

They can also be purchased a lot cheaper from Germany than the UK ;)

Awesome, what did you go for 30mm or 40mm?

Where can I buy them from in Germany?

Thanks

Do it! I've got an Alpine SWE-815 in my boot... decent sub for <£100. When I originally got it, all my neighbours knew. But since I've turned it down to 40%, it really improves the quality of the bass without shaking the dashboard apart.

I went for 40mm and find its perfect height and probably more comfy than standard springs.

There's a guy on eBay who sells them for roughly £160-170 where as they're £200+ from sellers over here.

I'll post you a link tomorrow when I'm on my works laptop.

Link for springs below

I bought mine from here and quite a few other members have used the same guy with no issues.

Awesome thanks mate! Ordered a set now....

Just got the car a fresh service today and apparently the top mounts are on the way out, need to get this done as well.

Was thinking to get some anti roll bars next as I want to set the handling up to something I am used to, the car is way too soft at the moment.

Nice car you have there mate, i originally wanted a white K1 but ended up with a red one. After selling that i recently got another one, bright yellow lol. I may be lucky 3rd time and actually get a white one.
