Unlike the Front Assist dampness issue, when your Ateca gets a dirty bum (rear bumper under corners, mud etc) with blind spot / rear cross, you need to clean and then re toggle Blind Spot back on, on the stick, it toggles it off as a malfunction with a bong and repeated screen messages. This is different to Front Assist where the front S badge dries out and you are back in business. The manual doesn't make this clear that it's altered the cars settings which need reverting back once offending dirt is removed.
