It would be unlikely that an official seat garage would switch it on, but an indy seat garage might or buy the cable for china for £12 and DIY.

Good work and thanks for doing this guide :D

I am new to all this VCDS stuff but am thinking of getting it to change a few of the setting myself.

Do I need VCDS lite to be able to change these settings, or a different version?
Also is it an OBD II cable that I need??

Any links to a particular known good/cheap make or brand of cable that I would need to connect to the car?

Many thanks for any help or info guys :)

I have full gen ross tech with hex+can cable. Not a cheap copy.

If your only going to use it just to do a couple of changes I would see if there is anyone local to you who wouldn't mind helping.

I have ordered a cable now as it would be more handy to do the bits myself if and when needed :)
I heard that there was an option to have the DRL's turn off when the handbreak was applied, does anyone have the adaptations for that at all?

Also, the locking/unlocking chirp, is it from the horn or a different sound?

:)

I think the chirp is from the alarm. My toledo is from the horn and sounds horrid but new cars have a nice tone to it.

I'm unsure of the drl's have a nose around the options you will stumble across it

I set mine to normal and its a chrip but I've disabled it in the menu noq as it got annoying. There's another option "kurz" (translates to short), not sure what that does, maybe the horn.

I doubt I will enable the chirp but was just interested really :)
Alarm chirps seem to be a thing of the past, not like the 90's where everyone wanted some kind of sound to tell the neighborhood that you were locking and unlocking the car lol or the proximity sensors telling you to "Step away from the vehicle" was cool back then but now we like to keep it simple and quiet :)

Hi everybody. I am using an aliexpress cable with the crack software. I changed some settings as tacho staging and park pilot. But I couldn't change the comfort signal cycle settings. Default number is 3. I changed it to 5. It accepted the change but it blinks 3 times again. Is there anybody who has an opinion about this issue?

I am using the settings below:

PS: My leon FR was built at the 15 th of November 2013.

I've had a play today and got the cornering fogs working. I nearly selected the wrong option, they are very similar. Shame the car doesn't speak English!!

Sixysix - I've enabled the chirp and it's quite understated.. It's not too much like an old 90's alarm.

Also got the reverse mirror tilt working, returns to it's proper place each time I've tested it, just a shame it doesn't go lower!! I've also enabled auto rain closing windows, auto fold mirrors without having to do the long press, increased indicator flashes to 5, and a few other bits from the German forum.

The only other thing I wanted to do but couldn't get to work was changing the sensitivity of the auto high beam, it kept erroring. :-/

Over all, for £12 I'm happy. My main changes that were essential were the mirror fold without having to long hold the remote and the auto mirror dip. :)

As a side note.. Long shot but does anyone know if it's possible to enable remote blower and rear demister activation a la BMW for cold frosty mornings?

I know I'm not going to be able to do it by a funky iphone app like BMW but if it could do it for a set time say 10 minutes on unlock I could just unlock from the bedroom when I wake up and no more defrosting the car!?!

Today I tried again but unfortunately I could not activate these below:

1) No signal change 3 to 5. ( It accepts change but cycle still blinks 3 times)
2) No rain closing. (There is no RLS menu in VCDS program. I did the first two step but there is no third step)
3) Activation of the warning when driving with active parking light. (It accepts the change but nothing changed)

I have not understood why I can not activate these yet.

I haven't actually tested the indicator yet do might be getting ahead of myself! 2. Yep same problem. Forgot I'd not been able to do the last step.

3. What's that??

You should be able to set the mirror tilt to whatever angle you like, works on my wk 50 build Leon FR (remember the window tilt function only got reinstated from wk 49) see here for more detail http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4353656#post4353656

To do this you need to have the mirror switch to L position, engage the reverse gear (the mirror will now tilt to the currently set position), then adjust the mirror to whatever position you would like it to be at and then disengage the reverse gear - your new position will be set and next time reverse gear is engaged with mirror in L position it will dip to the new position :)

I tried that and it didn't do anything. When it returned to the normal position it was proportionally lower. It seems like mine will only go a set distance lower than where it's set for normal driving, and lowering it further whilst it's down just limits how far back up it will go. Obviously a coding issue, not a hardware issue, and there's probably a place in VCDS to edit it, I just don't know where. :-/ thanks though. :)
