The key shaft has separated from the fob. Lost the pin that connects the two and allows the key shaft to rotate into the fob. Anyone had this happen? Is it possible to purchase the pin?

Only happened a couple if times, but have noted the pin works it's way out and needs pushing back in.
Might be worth trying a locksmith as they should have the pins for when a spare is cut.
A bit of wire from an electrical cable might make a temporary fix.

RS Components sell spring pins down to 2mm diameter, £5.04 for a bag of 120. Measure the hole in the blade. If these fit you won't be short of spares

Thanks everyone for the helpful ideas. I think I will try Timpsons first as some of them seem to deal with cutting blades for remote keys so presumably will have a pin to fit. Temporarily using a paper clip!!

A belated update - tried local key cut outlets, tried Seat dealership who could not get them but did search the internet for me and found some on line for £1.98 +p&p but I had to buy one myself as not covered under warranty!!
