Turbo issue new advise
Hi I'm new to this so please bare with me .
I took my seat in for a service last thurs to a seat dealership. They dropped the car back off at my husband work. He drove it home. The following day I drove roughly 15/20 miles came home my husband too the car not more than 5/10 miles. He heard a bang then all power went into lag mode.

He managed to get it back home
As it would go over 2/3tho revs . Where are for the weekend so on Monday call out brake down
I notice after removing cover on engine an moving foam bit that on the left hand side a chrome circle thing had a little hole and dark black oils had leaked out only on to the foam so I presumed that was what had happened(apparently something called anti shudder ??)

The breakdown check the oil and said there was no oil in the car I said impossible since it had literally only just gone for a service and they should have changed the oil !!!

He said in his opion this was not new oil but old as the oils should still be a golden colour not black

I asked him toe to the car as this was unacceptable

Dropped the car off with them and went home

The nxt day called dealer to speak to service manager where he the kept saying we would NEVER let a car go without oil

After a couple more conversations he said that a seal had gone on the Turbo. Who I asked him how could this burn up 4.5lts of oil in under 50 miles ( bear in mind that 20 of that was after the bang and taken back to garage)

That the mechanic he filled the car back up with oil and it was only 1.5lts down which was obviously burnt odd by the turbo

I ask surely I would notice ie burning smell smoke something and I asked if oil was new why is it now black he said that after 10 mins of new oil in a car it turns black ????

So I would like some advice would no oil in the car course this type of issue can they know if a sea has gone without striping the turbo and why is the little circle steel thing leaking oil( which he said he had no knowledge of

I will try and Enclose a piture of that.

I feel it they fault and there for not have to pay for damages !!!

Welcome to the forum.
1. You have posted this in the wrong section, this is for technical problems with the forum itself. You would be better posting in the section relevant to the vehicle , e.g. Leon Mk1, mk2 , Ibiza etc.
2. If the vehicle had no oil in it the oil pressure warning light should have come on at the very least. Equally the engine would sound like a bag of spanners within seconds of starting. If it had burnt 4.5 litres of oil in the short distance you wouldn't have been able to see for smoke.

This sound like the garage with the slogan "nice people to do business with" that returned my car after service to home. On starting it, it ran rough and refused to pull. The turbo boost pipe was blown off. There are some joker Seat main dealers out there. They had the cheek to not accept it was down to them even after they delivered it to my home and charged me to repair it. Needless to say I'm not using them now. Personally I think they blew it off in the smoke test, pushed it back on with the Clip missing. Drove it here and it blew back off again when I went to start it. They didn't have the Clip in stock I know that and offered me a "temporary" repair. Protyres told me of an incident they had with someone coming in and again the need to get the proper parts to repair it.

If it's a diesel engine the engine oil will be black, even if it's new oil. Start the engine and a few mins later it's black.

That's the conundrum. Use these dealers in order to get a dealers stamp for your history or use a local trusted mechanic you know.

Dealer stamps mean nothing to me when buying a car, I'd rather see a good service using the same indy garage and a good amount of receipts showing everything the car has ever had.

I never use main dealers other than SereMotors on here.
