anyone have any experience of these on VW tdis?

i had some experience of modified clutches when i had my hdi, the upgraded standard clutches you could buy would allow you to do a full bore launch in 2nd, to devastating effect on the 1/4mile. my mates tuned 206 with one of these did low 15secs all day, so a good clutch in a 150 tdi would help no end i reckon.

dont know what the dual mass flywheel would say to a 2nd gear launch tho?

opinions?

They are the 228mm clutches, the PD's use a 240mm clutch.

Pretty sure the clutches on the A4/Passat/Superb are different as they are not transversely mounted.

Sorry to resurect this thread but has anyone had this presure plate upgrade done?

Is it just the plate that's replaced and everything else is left stock?

If anyones had it done, how does it feel / is it wearing?

Any other issues?

How much was it fitted?

Reason I ask is im considering custom code and if the clutch slips with the OE clutch, im not going to be happy "driving round" the torque ive just paid good money for like a lot of others do - I want to use it :D

Hi
I have been doing quite a bit of research in to clutches.
PD and 1.8T engines.
The Sachs clutch is a very good clutch upgrade and have done quite a few.
The Sachs one is the one that we sent out to Stoneyford.
We have fitted one to a PD150 with Nitos that has done a few drag strips.
This has proved itself to be very good.
Like Stoneyford said it does not get too hard and the bite is still as stock.
If you go for the sintered one the bite is quite tricky round town.
If I can help you further you could give me a call on 01246 455005
Thank you
Sarah

Thats not sachs uk!! Sachs, Boge and lemforder all come under the ZF Trading Uk Ltd now and the links you have to that website is a company called Triple 8 which deal with ZF trading GMBH in Germany and get all of there orders direct from there and occasionally get them from us at work. If you want to find out info on sachs stuff then use this link: www.zf-trading.co.uk, this site will give you information on standard clutches and the uprated race products and this is the official Sachs uk site.

Just wondering what the turn round is on these, How long does it take to fit?

I would presume same as a normal clutch, couple of hours at most

Hi
Yes it is the same as fitting a standard clutch.
4 hours for this.

Hi
The fitted price including release bearing and including the VAT would be £748.71
That is the full total of the bill.
Hope that helps you
