Need exact info about the carriers and the calipers, I need 4 pot calipers and heading for 312mm discs. Which brand/model and which MY should I look for? It's hard to find LCR calipers here..

I've read Megane 2 RS calipers (4 pot brembos) also fit? Asked my dealer for a brand new kit and they replied they want my both legs and an arm.

Edit : in need of these parts for a boc with original rims

Guys, mkv (5) golf 312s will not fit, you need a mk4 platform setup. Your wasting your time if you try to fit the mk5 setup.

I have 2 mk4 312 sets I can build kits with if anybody is interested, for those with bigger budgets 312porsche 4 pot and 323mm lcr brembos

Does the brembo's fits plug and play on a Ibiza SC FR 2.0 TDI from 2010 ?

Have a look at your current calipers - do they have FS III cast in to them ?

If yes then you are going to need the front hubs as well as the brakes.

If your brakes have a spring on the outside then you can go for the 312 conversion without changing hubs.

I have bought the hubs for my Ibiza, which 4 pot brakes fit?

Hello everyone. I own a Seat Ibiza FR 1.4 TDI facelift, I would change the front and rear braking system, does anyone know where I could mount to improve the system?

Hi mate, i bought a Leon mk1 312mm front setup.. so if I understand everything i've read on this thread so far I will need to use the calipers from the leon and buy discs and pads for the Mk1 Leon or Mk4 Golf /w 312mm?

Thanks

Tell if I'm correct. I have a 6j 2013 1.6 tdi fr with ate calipers 288mm disc and the only thing I need to change is the carriers so I can fit the 312mm discs, right? What is the reference number for those is it the audi one?

I've been comparing references on etka and the seat Ibiza 2013 310mm setup uses the same caliper only with different carriers. But doubt is everyone is talking about the 312mm setup and not 310mm.

I have made the 312mm brake upgrade on my Polo BlueGT.

Parts you'll need:

- Caliper carriers from Audi A1 (8X0615125A) these are unpainted. You can get also red (Polo GTI) or blue (Polo R WRC) carriers
- use the stock "Golf V" brake caliper
- brake pads from Golf V or Audi A3 8P will fit, I bought EBC RedStuff DP31517C
- 312 mm brake discs from Golf IV 25th Anniversary or Audi TT 8N (e.g. EBC BSD930)
- perhaps the OEM 10mm longer brake hoses, I changed to longer HEL braided hoses

Pictures are in here: www . vagarena . fi/index.php?topic=15217.msg458760#msg458760
It's in Finnish but pictures say more than thousand words :D

Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

I'm just in the process of working through this now as I want to upgrade the 288x25 (5x100) discs on my ST as I've had a turbo upgrade.

My notes are as follows:

310mm Upgrade
There's a 310mmx25 (5x100) disc (6R0 615 301 B) that uses the same carrier as the 288mm version (6R0 615 125 B) the B for Red
It uses the same caliper part number (1K0 615 124 M) the M for Red as the 288mm version and only the pads are different (8X0 698 151)
That appears to be a straight swap but if you want the red, you can opt for those. In theory, it's just a 310mm disc and pads to fit directly onto the 288mm hub and carrier. Obviously this will be dependent on wheel size.

312mm Upgrade (SEAT Sport/Cupra caliper)
Completely different caliper, carrier and pads

For the sake of 2mm and the SEAT Sport printed text on the caliper, I think I'm ok with the 310mm option

Alright mate did you ever get round to doing the 310mm upgrade? And for which car if you don’t mind me asking . I’ve got a 2014 Ibiza FR Edition, (288mm front) and am looking at getting a bit more stopping power, so if I opted for the 310mm setup all I’d need is discs/ pads? Whereas if I went for the 312 the callipers and carriers also need replacing? How can a calliper take different pad sizes? Sorry for all the questions I just can’t understand what the best thing is to do.

Cheers

I did, but I had to go to my friendly dealer as I couldn't find anything that matched (or results) on the ECP or the like. The discs and pads went straight in. I can't say that 312mm strictly needs a new hub carrier and caliper, but that is certainly what the parts catalogue suggested and I didn't want to risk it for a SEAT logo.

For instance, this will work:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/brake-calipers-front-310mm-Audi-A1-S1-VW-Polo-6R-6C-GTI-WRC-Seat-Ibiza-6J-Cupra/143372791278?fits=Model:Ibiza+Sportcoupe&hash=item2161af2dee:g:EqcAAOSwJZRdbn-9

So if I was to opt for either of those I would then just need the discs/ pads? Tempting...

And any idea what I’d want if I wanted to do the 312 conversion?
Cheers

I didn't look beyond the fact it was a new carrier. I guess at that point, you've already got to buy a new caliper, pads and discs so a carrier isn't too much more but I suspect the hubs are different. Lastly, don't forget you'd need at least 16" alloys to fit 312mm discs.

The second link (red ones) include pads :drive1:

I found this too, but it's unclear (mentions upgrade from 288 to 312mm but then says it's 310mm...

So I would also need the carrier you’ve linked? (Assuming it is actually for the 310 setup) As well as the red callipers from your first reply? Sorry I’m slightly confused!

Also which model is yours out of curiosity?

There seems to be plenty of options for the 312 setup and possibly cheaper too but I’m unsure which is the best route to go down as I want to make sure I get it right first time!

I've done a bit more digging today. The part in that link is 6R0615125B (B for red) which is both 288/310mm defo (I messaged them and they confirmed). Earlier in the thread, there is talk of 8X0615125A (change A to B on the end for red) which is the 310mm bracket for Audi/VW, however, that makes it seem that the one carrier fits all 3 sizes (288,300 and 312). Arguably, that makes sense, but I didn't want to risk it. I stuck with the same carrier and caliper and just changed my discs and pads. The 312mm kit is AP Racing for the CUPRA R if that helps, and as I say, I wasn't all that bothered about the embossed SEAT logo on the caliper. There is no mention of a different carrier in ETKA for the 312mm caliper / discs and pads, so I have to admit, I can't guarantee either way that they won't bolt straight on. If the setup is cheaper, and it's almost throw away, the worst case is you'd need a carrier, which you can find. Best case, 312mm will fit straight on.

Okay so all you've done is fit 310mm discs and pads and kept the caliper and carrier from your 288 setup? But if I wanted to I could also change the carrier to 6R0615125B/ 8X0615125B as well as the calipers you first linked? Also yes I have seen the 312mm AP kit but all I'm after is a bit more stopping power without breaking the bank (no intention of tracking it etc) so wasn't ever really considering the AP kit. The 312 setup I was referencing was what I've seen using all the older VAG break components (e.g. mk5 golf calipers, mk1 TT, mk1 A3) but I'm unsure exactly which components it is that I need.

I'm not that fussed about having a 312 over a 310 or vice versa as they're as close as probably makes no difference, I just want to do whichever is easiest to do/ friendliest to the wallet.

You can grab a 288 to 310mm carrier (which is what i linked to above) and use your normal caliper and pads and just get 310mm discs if you like. If you want everything red, you'd obviously need the caliper too. What I meant earlier was, the actual kit from Audi/Seat, etc is APRacing. It was designed and branded by them as OEM fit for the S1, Ibiza, etc.
