Flip key part numbers

Hi

i'm noticing that people aren't doing much research & just buying flip remotes without checking part number compatibility. I've posted the correct part numbers several times in the flip key thread but nobody seems to be bothered to read through the pages to find them.

So, what i'm asking is if i post them in a separate thread can somebody make it a sticky?? It may help a few folk & stop them from wasting money buying non compatible remotes ;)

Anyways, here are the part numbers

2 button remote Seat Leon 2002-2005 1J0959753CT or 1J0959753AG

3 button remote Seat Leon 2002-2005 1J0959753DA or 1J0959753AH

2 button remote Seat Leon 2000-2002 1J0959753N

I have part numbers for all other Seat & VAG models so can put those on if needed

Hope this helps

Craig

I actually bothered to go through the thread and check that the remote I was buying was the right model number, but it's hidden about 17 pages in to the flip key thread! Could this one be stickied or at least added to the start of the flip key guide?

Out of interest, if I have a non flip key with two buttons (lock and unlock) can I replace it with a three button flip key and have added functionality of the third button or will the third button do nothing?

yes you can replace your original 2 button fixed blade remote with a flip remote. In 2 years of doing keys i've never done a customer a none flip remote, everybody always goes for flip remotes. Most of my suppliers don't even stock the old none flip type as they cost more than flip keys these days

the 3rd button will unlock the boot on a Leon but it won't pop it open

Hi mate

Seat won't cut a blade for you, they don't have key cutting machine in dealerships. When new keys are ordered they come from Germany & come precut ready to program.

I supply, cut & program keys so depending where you are i can cut the blade for you or do the full job if required

i charge £80 to forum members if they come to me or if they're in a 10 mile radius. I'm about 100 miles from Kendal though. Which is about £30-35 in fuel for me plus driving time.

I do travel about a fair bit but i never know when jobs will come in & in what areas.

I'm actually going to be at Centre Parcs at Penrith from 24th to 28th. If you have a spare key you could always post it to me this week, i can cut the blade then bring it with me along with my programming equipment & do it while i'm up there. I can't really bring my cutting machine as it's fixed in my van & we'll be coming up in the car

i've just had somebody from near Bolton inquire about a key. He's roughly 65 miles from you so if he goes for it I can tie the job into the same trip & I would just charge you the traveling costs from Bolton to Kendal as he'd cover the mileage to Bolton

How easy is to change and reprogramme the normal 2 button remotes Into the 3 button flip key? Can anywhere cut the blanks then or has it got to be ordered pre cut from seat?

it#s quite easy. Just carefully remove the glass transponder from your original 2 button remote, or if you also have a spare none remote key remove it from that. Then fit it into the key head of the flip remote.

You don't have to get anything done by or from Seat. There's plenty of places that will cut your blade. Or find somebody mobile, like me! lol! :D My van is set up for key cutting & programming.

Once you've got the blade cut & the original transponder fitted into the flip key head you can then program the remote using the manual 2 key method.

If you currently only have 1 key & you want to make it 2 with getting a flip remote then you're going to have to get somebody to program the transponder in because the manual sync method only programs the remote locking, not the immob.

If you need any more help/advice etc just give me a shout. Depending where you are I can cut the blade or do whatever. I can also supply the correct remote for your year Leon as i always have 50+ various VAG remotes in stock

That's great help cheers, iv got a remote key and a normal solid key so if I just but a 3 button flip key and try blade as one, swop the chip over and then reprogram it! Is this done on a computer or a position 1/2/1/2/1/2 sort of thing? I appreciate this is your business just I'm from derby and don't think you are local!

Just wanted to give actionman a thumbs up for his services and info! Very clever guy! Also something not mentioned here, be careful where you buy blades, ive tried getting cheap blades cut locally and refused due to inferior quality. Its well worth paying the few quid extra to get somebody like Craig to supply and cut the blade, not just expect him to cut one.
