dont use KN , some people think it eats MAFs , most , myself included use green filters , tho u can still over oil these , car breathes easier with less hesitantion

I have had people tell me that their car smokes less with the Green Cotton on.
That could be a slight advantage.

Editing your spelling
the advantages are very slight for both performance and smoke. Have a search back through the TDI section as its been discussed many times before. The only real benefit is that if your going to keep the car a long time is that you dont need to replace all the time, mearly clean.

And the paper filters clog up way quicker too.

It doesn't concern me if my car smokes - the exhaust is at the rear :D

been using a cotton green ffrom when I got my car that 40k ago. Had one MAF replacmet but most likely that was on way out before I got it. All I do is every 3K take it out and give it a hoover. Definetly far less soot and car feels smoother and turbo spins nicer:)
