Hi
I have a 2008 Ibiza FR PD130 with the standard 17 inch wheels. The wheels have been patched up quite a bit due to kerbing, so I'm either going to refurb the wheels or fit some alternative 17 inch wheels from the VAG range. I fancy the car to look different but still with an OEM look.
The two alternative VAG wheels I'm currently looking at are:-
1) skoda 17 inch spyder alloys off a mk1 octavia VRS ( 7 x 17 with ET38)
2) mk1 S3 17 inch Avus alloys ( 7.5 x 17 with ET32)
Standard ET41 with 7 x 17.
I intend to keep tyre size at 205/40 17.
The VRS wheels are probably the safest bet but I'm also intrigued by the S3 alloys as according to an online ET calculator the S3 would stick out a further 15mm than standard. One one hand this should improve handling as it widens the track but is this at the expense of clearance/ fouling issues?
Any feedback from guys who've ran either wheels on a mk4 Ibiza would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
