What should my tyre pressures be? (225/45/17)

The info inside the fuel cap says 32 front and 29 back, but is this for the standard 16" wheels? I have 17" wheels (225/45/17) factory fitted as part of the sports pack (Leon 2.0tdi Stylance).

The reason I ask is that although I have them set to the pressures mentioned above they seem to be suffering from heavier wear in the centre of the tyre which suggests over-inflation.

Mine are the same for the standard 17"s on the FR. If anything this feels under-inflated; they feel heavy and were showing signs of wear on the shoulders, so I have upped the pressure by a couple of PSI.

Now this is mentioned i'm also curious as I have the 17"s on my Stylance. If the tyre pressure's on the inside of the filler cap are for 16"s then that could explain a few things.

I have an 06 TDI Sport with factory fitted 17" wheels and 225/45/17 tyres. My flap indicates 35F and 32R. I have covered 24K miles with these settings and tyre wear appears to be even.

Ahhh, that suggests I need to put even more air in then which would make it worse! Somethings not right here me thinks
