Relay / Fuse Layout

Was driving home and smelt like an electrical burn, after spending some time at home I returned to my car but it refused to start. I believe that maybe my fuel pump relay has burnt out and that would explain both the smell and the non starting; can anyone please either come up with some other options that would explain both the symptoms and also has anyone got a link to a diagram of the layout of the relays and fuses!!!

get urself a haynes, got mine off ebay for like 6 quid when there 15/18 in shops lol. will help you out with alot of things.

would tell you the number of the relay but seems as i am at work and dont have it with me lol i cant sorry

however, if you take off your glove box (one under the drivers wheel) it should say on there what relay and fuse is what.

but about the symptoms i havent a clue i would have thought its either the fuel or there is no spark.

Your car may have a later fuse box, but mid 80's to early 90's looked like this in a VW.

Im thinking its probably something in the engine bay burning out, have a good look around see if there are any signs of burning. Particulary battery connections, ignition coil, alternator.

Ive heard of people have issues with the fuel relay but no one has ever mentioned the burning smell.

If nothing, check the fuses and relays. To be honest if you smelt it that strongly i would expect a sign somewhere.

Deos anyone have a pic of where the ECU relay (relay 30) goes? I took it out last week for someone to test on their car and now i can't remember which position it goes in the fuse box.

Hello,

The indicators on the drivers side (right) on my 2004 Toledo saloon are staying on all the time. I suspect its a relay but anyone know where the relays are ?
