Im really happy with it. Done a good 500 miles on it now and it's just a better experience. I come from a 335d and im happy with it now. I will try 4 + 2 at some point.

Car also did a dpf regen today no problem.

Ahh, I didn't know you had came from a 335d! My mate just bought a 2009 330d. Gorgeous car :)

Good to see you had no problem on your DPF regen! Apart from your trip yesterday, any obvious signs of increased mpg?

Really tempted now lol Nice little Christmas present to myself!

It's hard to say as it obviously buggers up the trip reading. It certainly looks like it will be up based on last night's trip but I will only know for sure when I'm back at work.

Until then I'm just enjoying the performance, near on 500nm is mega :)

Well it adjusts the fueling and boost profile post ecu look up tables so it thinks less fuel has gone in than it really has.

So last night it showed 61mpg for a trip it normally shows 55. I filled up when I left and arrived and actually did 53 manually worked out. This is about normal as it's normally about 2 or 3 high without the box but what gives me confidence is normally it's just me with nothing in the boot but last night I was 5 up with the boot rammed.

Interesting reading seeing how you are getting on. I take it the 6th gear acceleration from 70-75 is pretty brisk? I'd imagine with 360+ lbft it must be quite satisfying!

You're not wrong. Getting to silly speeds is only 3 or 4 seconds away.

For a similar testimonial (mapped not chipped), I can confirm that the 170 pulls from 0 to its top speed with no delays what so ever. No hesitance or slowing down until about 90% to top. The last 10% is squeezing the HPs out. Until then, the immense torque just keeps you in the back of your seat. It's phenomenal really from a 170 Diesel engine.

It's on fleet insurance so no, my insurance would be the same on a 911 turbo, but I'd imagine you would at least be in it for an admin fee. I know DTUK can put the performance software on one of their eco boxes so you can sell it to them as an ecconomy thing.

Thanks for that, just phoned my insurance, Dial Direct and they said my current company would not insure modified cars and it would be around £1006, with another insurer, current is 380 ! I am 47 with no claims, so was a bit of a shock. Guess it throws that idea out of the window.:censored:

As an update I have run nearly 1000 miles on 4 + 1 with no issues and I am now trying 4 + 2. First impressions are I can't tell the difference.

The trip has always been 15 point something % out so this can be recalibrated via vcds to get it bang on as I think 15% is the max deviation.

Oh and I fitted the blanking plug just to remind myself what it was like standard and it confirmed to me it was the best 300 odd quid I have ever spent on a car :)

Is there something similar for the 1.8 TSI version?
I heard the DSG7 has a torque limit, won't it hurt the gearbox using it?

Try greenlight, when I got my mk1 remapped Admiral wouldn't insure it and greenlight were 200 quid cheaper than I was paying with Admiral, even with the map.

There is but you won't get close on the tsi. Quite a bit of info on the skoda forums about dsg and tuning on the MQB.
