OUCH!!! Well does the guy doing the work guarantee to refund you if it doesn't work? He seems pretty confident that's what it is, it's a lot of money to spend if it's only a guess....
Hopefully will sort it, how old is car and mileage? I sold mine with 34k on the clock, pristine condition, it resold within a day for 3 grand more than I got for it!! Don't you just love dealers! No wonder they all have a reputation....

Yeah my local mechanic guaranteed the throttle body then when I went back with 2nd fault he had to outsource another mechanic with better diag equipment to solve the tubro control unit. So 2 mechanics later and a bag of sand light am back on the road. Well it's 48k on clock and a 2010 plate and in good condition if am really honest.

Well am debating do I keep it or move on its hard to say I've spent a bomb on it so should keep it but then again could get another problem soon I've heard the turbos are like chocolate on these cars. If it does go what do I want next? Need suggestions haha

Well if u do keep it make sure you don't flog it cos the "VW" engine is prone to broken valves and Pistons, turbo was replaced under warranty on mine after 3 months! Even though the dealer kept telling me the problem wasn't the turbo haha. If u change u will know in your own mind what u want (or can afford) whatever you buy the dealer will no doubt tell u it's the best car in the world till it has a problem then they will tell u "it's a common fault" lol .... Can't win with cars unfortunately, enjoy whatever u end up with :)

Must of been ****ed since day 1 my boost feels totally stronger and I don't get that squeek when you put your foot down in a low gear low rpm. I've never bought from a dealer I must admit but am pretty weary about my turbo so maybe after the summer I may decide on something new. I want something with a little power pref about 160-200 bhp and not to heavy on fuel. I fancied a fabia vrs or a polo gti but it's the same car hahaha can't win

Help

Hi just wondering if someone can help I've got a seat cupra 2010 done around 30,000 miles and nothing but problems with engine management light I've got extended warranty through car people (never again) I feel like I'm there every week with a different problem all leading up to this one. They have replaced the lambda sensor and o2 sensor recently when I took it back to them they said they couldn't help me as they didn't know what was wrong with it so took it to a seat dealership today they told me I had 3 errors 2 being my o2 sensors and 1 being my intake air flap over the last few days my car has been going into limp mode not changing gear or going past 3000 revs when I asked them at seat if the car was ok to drive they said yes 10 miles of driving out of dealership I'm back in limp mode just wondering what you have done to rectify this as nobody seems to know

Thankyou driving at 30 mph is killing me

Turbo control unit had exact same problem. You need someone with a good diag kit like a vag specialist as the error code actually causes 2 more error codes. Cost me around £1100 and relaxed the accuator too. Argue the toss with the car people demand they get it tested by someone with vag no how it's the only way I had the same problem for weeks

Cheers shouldn't the seat dealership I took it too today, have found that when they did a full diagnostic on it, they told me to take it back if it went into limp mode again the strange thing is I could go start my car now and it would most likely drive fine then 5 mins into drive it goes into limp mode won't let me go last 3000 revs but if I turn the engine off and turn it back on and Rev it up it will go to about 4000 and then stop it self doesn't sound good either just don't want to damage it by keep driving it

**** seat I find the people who are self employed with experience know the most just argue with them it is literally exactly the same fault as mine I don't know how they don't know what it is most be common. Yeah your car is just protecting its self but can't really do it any good. Hope you get it fixed asap mines been spot on every since tbh my boost and been much tighter too must of been broke for a few month before I noticed

mine turned out to be the air intake valve which was dirty, it took two attempts to get it clean so "may" be a better option to have it replaced rather than clean it, especially if its covered by warranty. This issue also happens with a LOT of VW's, skoda, Audi it seems, but also mainly diesel engines, however, it did solve the issue with the one i used to own (1.4 TSI Cupra) What area are you located Seat cupra 2010? if your near me i can always give you the name of the garage who sorted mine, dont bother with SEAT dealerships, they work off checklists and replace parts until it "hopefully" solves the issue which is a very expensive way for the customer to get the problems fixed. Better to go to someone who specialises in those engines and manufacturers who will do a diagnostic check and know what to eliminate. My dealer firstly changed the spark plugs cost me £130+, didnt fix the problem, then wanted to charge another £30 every time they did a diagnostic check....erm No sorry SEAT you diagnose ONCE then sort out the issue, you dont diagnose a dozen times and charge £360 for the privelage! If you prefer to use dealer then tellthem your not paying for more than one Diagnostic test.

Anyway, give the air intake valve a try it may just solve your problem like it did for mine :)

Iv come across the same problem with my Seat Ibiza 1.4tsi Cupra 2010. What was the final outcome of the cause of this problem? Iv been quoted £750 on throttle body alone not including fitting and VAT :( Hopefully my warranty will cover it but iv heard Warranty Wise are useless... Any advice or resolution to this issue would helpful (Y) Does anyone recommend a Terrace Clean?

Cost me around £1100 with fitting with a vag specialist not seat dealer. That included acuator and turbo control unit

Actually trading mine in tomorrow before it costs me more more. Needs 4 brakes doing and it's drinking oil again. Emotional times I loved my cupra :(

Hope you get a fix mate mine boosted a lot better after replacing it

HEllo everyone, im new to this site so not completely sure where the best place is to post this request so hope you can assist.

My car has recently flagged up this code twice now (P10A4) the car stutters when acceleraing and wont rev above 3000 rpm. Im told this could be the Lambda Sensors needing replacing but i obviously dont want to just start changing things to find it hasnt helped. The code actually tells me it is intake air flap control actuator mechanical malfunction.

Has anyone come across this issue with their Ibiza Cupra (i dont seem to hear the "whine" now on acceleration) and if so can you let me know what the solution was/is?
My car was 100% fine until it went into the dealer a few months ago for recall on gearbox check, they changed the oil, did a 32 mile "test drive" and when i got it back it was very unwell especially with a distinct vibration on tick over. This turned out to be a problem with cylinder 4 (no compression) the garage basically disclaimed all responsibility even though to this day i think someone flogged the living daylights out of it on their 32 mile "test drive" ended up costing me over £500 (30% of the bill)... ever since then my car has flagged up this code a couple of times. Im really hoping this is not going to cost another fortune especially as i always drive this car sensibly and never flog it.

I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me to solve this issue

Many thanks in advance
Iv had the same problem did you manage to fix this
