Hahaha mine was worse than this! I only got it sorted yesterday, if my guy wasn't so savvy I'd have spent £££ chasing the fault! It'll be a touch if that cures it

FFS Look what else I just found!

Anyone know what this hose is called???
It's the hose that sits just right of the dipstick!

Looks like the pipe from the pcv. Take the black panel off and see, also that dipstick looks like it had "bits" do you know where they went??

As long as you're happy nothing went in. With that pipe split you could follow the guides about removing the pcv as this will remove this pipe as in the long run save you . I say the long run because it won't last forever and if you plan on keeping the car like me for some time you will only end up replacing again.

I also noticed that I could hear a small blow on the exhaust near the o2 sensor , haven't looked yet but could that affect sensor and subsuqant bad idle?

To be honest mate I'd get the split pipe and the dipstick tube sorted first and see what's what from there may well fix your issues

No. Don't cap this off.
This works it's way up to the intake and connect's to the hockey puck which is why unmetered air is getting in.

Not pic of mine , but it the vacuum port on the right that's split!

OK , so today I decided to change the o2 sensor as I'm renewing bits as I go!

It has partially help towards the original problem but issue still remains!

My reader still hasn't turned up which I'm annoyed about!

So far I found 3 vac leaks (including broken dipstick funnel)

Changed sparks and o2 sensors (which I wanted to do)

Cleaned out maf and tb

It seems to be dumping a lot of fuel into the exhaust as backfires with the odd plume here and there !

Between 1-2K rpm it sounds like a rally car on speed! Really raspy!

Really need my reader as this is starting to baffle me :-s

Right I got my reader today!

All good, so connected to car!

The reader is failing to connect with car and after multiple attempts I give up!

What could be causing it to do that?

Ahh , battery just died on me!

I'd imagine that a Low Battery will affect connectivity?
