DPF on 1.9 PDs

Indeed. No 1.9 ever had a DPF. It was only something introduced to more recent 2.0 TDIs. The early 2 litres got away without having them. I suspect it was around 05/55plate they started appearing. The 1.9s never had more than a cat which could easily be ripped out ;)

shouldn't be back pressure issues. TDIs don't want any back pressure in the exhaust because the turbos produce sufficient amounts themselves. A freeflowing exhaust "should" give the best results, but maybe some people are finding the opposite is true? I wouldn't be without my "pipe" exhaust now.

Mine spluttered and stalled on take off without a CAT, so i put it back on. Mine seems to be the only one i've heard of, but i'm happier with it back on.
