Came down to the today, to find some idiot has decided to put their foot through my driver side headlight. Arrrrggghhh! Really fed up right now. Anyone know how much a new headlight costs? Police have been over to have a look, normal procedure I guess.

Gutted!!

No idea tbh. It just looks like it's been stamped on from the way it's been broken and the scratches in the paint work below. So the force is deffo downwards. Plus a nice 2 litre Irnbru bottle left under the car and muck all over the bonnet.

I'm also going to have to pay the excess and loose a couple years no claims, or fork out myself.

UPDATE: Well have since found out that someone kicked/threw a wheelie bin at the car last Friday night. No idea who, yet! Bought a brand new UK spec headlight off eBay for £100 delivered. Which includes warranty etc.
So my next question is, does anyone know how to fit a new headlight and what is involved? Is it a case of just uncrewing the old one and fitting the new one in reverse? Or does the front bumper need to be removed? Any quick answers would be greatly appreciated.

If you use the Forge web site there is a instruction for fitting their twin air cooler - this will give you access to the headlights!! [ try and copy the 3 axsis?? setting in the headlamp assembly] so when doing the alignmentit matches otherwise it is not a problem - you may need the help of another to take the weight of the front bumper on/off and a old carpet to rest the bumper on - good luck.

Thanks for the advice and help guys. But I have chickened out and have asked my local Seat dealer to replace the headlight for me for £58. So total cost of new headlight and swapping them around £158, which is not bad really. Considering my excess was going to be £350!

Now onto my second point, are there any insurance companies that protect you from this kind of situation, where there is no one to claim against?
