Used to own a mk1 leon, now coming back to the fold after owning a laguna mk3

can honestly say wish I'd of stuck with seat
Going to be buying a Mk2 or Mk3 with the 1.6TDI engine as I do a lot of miles.
Been looking at the 1.6 tdi ecomotive copa se in mk2 and just the regular 1.6tdi se in the newer model.
Would you go for the older mk2 with its 55 liter tank, ecomotive version or the newer lighter model in regular format as new ecomotive is rare at dealers.
I have sat in both not driven either yet, sales person asked did I think mk2 facelifted look dated I said no compared to my car its much nicer.
Which would you recommend I go for? any advice help/tips welcome thanks
