Hi just a quick question how many of you guys have seen these head units floating around on eBay?

They're going for around £100-£200 and are fully Android Auto and Apple car play enabled. They actually look rather good for the price.

Does anyone know if they would fit into a 2010 leon FR without the hassle of buying extra wiring fascia etc which would be required for an aftermarket as I was looking at the Kenwood 7017dabs but this unit looks to have the same functionality with a more oem look.

Thanks in advance for any replies

From what I can see these units are factory oem and being VAG surely they would be the same fitment as any other oem unit. If anyone could shed any light on the cable fitment as well that would be great i.e any extra cabling required, steering control (would they work) etc.

Hi guys,

I have ordered 1 of these units myself, hopefully here this week..

I have a 2010 FL FR, from what ive been told they are a straight swap.

You need a fascia if you are running the std single din factory stereo, l have ordered this from Coverdalevagparts, £40 inclinding all screws and clips...

You will retain your steering wheel controls also, which was a massive plus for me...

Hope that helps

Hi Brendan

Let us know how that goes I have the factory standard double din which is absolute s**t!

Little disappointed there would still be no DAB but I mostly use Spotify anyway.

Cheers

Awesome can't wait to see how that turns out think I'll be ordering one myself.

Do you know anything about the splash screen and changing that to seat or the FR logo as opposed to VW or Skoda?

Hi Brendan

Something you may like to try after installing your new radio is if the built in usb port is still functional and works for the android auto/Apple car play.

Definitely gonna order one just don't fancy the dangling usb cable if it can be helped.

i was tempted to buy one of these the other week so did some research, there are number of model names; RCD330, RCD330Pro, RCD330+, RCD330Plus, RCD360 etc. I wasn't sure if they are genuine model names or names created by people to make their stock sound better. They were for the Chinese market only but come with English language on them.

I do know there are at least 2 manufacturers Desay and NONAME (as no one knows who makes them).

Some early versions have a CD drive but no Apple Car Play/Android Auto (no APP button on the right). Then there are different spec later versions with no CD drive and either 512mb or 1gb RAM. There is also differing bluetooth versions which is for compatibility with SIRI.

I need a CD drive as i'm old and don't store music on my phone or use Spotify etc. but then i wouldn't be able to use Android Auto for nav etc. I couldn't find if they would be compaitble with a VAG CD changer so i could retain the use of CD's so didn't take the plunge.

^ From what I understand 360 is a mishmash of various parts and is not a "real" model, nor a 330 offshoot model. Real 330 can be recognized by aux port in the middle. Desay models have Carplay for Apple while Noname support carplay and android.

As far as OP's car, I believe he is good to go because '10 have updated canbus. From reddit.

"All gateways starting words with “7N0” began will not have battery drain. Your gateway is “7N0 907 530G”.
Have you installed other things, such as cameras, other adapters, and have you taken power directly from the fuse box?
2010-2018 Volkswagen will not have battery drainage problems. Install RCD330 plus, 2008-2009 Volkswagen, some will have battery drainage, depending on the gateway model, their gateway usually starts with 1K0 began, 530* ends, 2004-2007 The Volkswagen must have battery drainage problems.
There is another situation, if some OBD devices are always plugged into the car and not removed, the battery will drain.
