As it says on the Seat web site http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/...6,carname=new leon, trim=Sport, pagetype=i.html and in the brochure, boot open warning light?

Does anyone elses work at all or are the brochure and web site wrong?

Also has anyone had any problems with the boot unlock remote (on the key) not working. I have ordered a new key and remote for the wife so will get it checked out when i'm next at the dealers.
Sorry a couple of negative points there. I love the car to bits and most of things i have found are a big plus. The biggest one being: when the outside temp gets to 4 degrees and below, you get a warning beep, a flashing temp display for 5 seconds then it reverts back to what you had on your trip display. My Cupra used to annoy me by showing the temp (4 degrees and below) even if you changed it to the time (for example) and then it would revert back to the temp again.

I've had this conversation with my SEAT dealer and with SEAT customer services and heres the response I got from SEAT customer service. I also asked why they took away the option to deactivate the passenger airbag.

Thank you for your email of 5th December 2005 in relation to your New SEAT Leon.

I can confirm that the option for the owner to disconnect the airbag bay a switch was removed due to safety reasons. The airbag can be disconnected by you local SEAT approved dealership, however, they will require you to sign a disclaimer releasing them from any responsibility resulting from this action.

May I also advise that the boot open warning light was included in the original specification at the time the brochures were printed. However, as stated in the brochure, SEAT UK reserves the right to change specification and colour at any time. The information in the brochure can therefore be given as guidance only.

Oh and the boot button thing...mines exactly the same. The dealer reprogrammed the key and it made no difference.

I've found that if you hold the button in, it usually works. After speaking to a friend who's VW Beetle has the same key it seems that his button is the same...maybe that's just the way it's supposed to be!

Quoting from the manual...

"Unlocking the tailgate. Press the boot button until all indicators on the vehicle briefly flash"

Thats why a quick push of the buton doesnt work!

Tried it and it works. (maybe i should read the manual  ) It also locks itself when you shut the boot. Word of caution: don't leave your key on the boot floor before you slam it.

It would be nice if the dealers who sold the car were briefed on any changes to the brochure so they could inform the customers.

Another question: does anyone have the cruise light on the instrument panel? It mentions it in the manual (quick flick through). it doesn't work on mine but i'm not fussed as it would only annoy me.

There is no cruise control light, nor is there a light to tell you are running low on screen wash... :(

On models with the larger MFD you get warning messages there...

Well after extensive testing I can conclude that the keys in boot thing doesn't work. Much to the annoyance of my neighbours. (I forgot you had to put the key in the ignition to stop the alarm)

Whoops..
