TFSI gear changes....

After reading a thread about gear changes on a TDi, it prompted me to ask the same question for the TFSI engine. I've had my K1 for about 6 weeks now, totally loving it. Initially I changed gear below 5000 rpm as I was told that I shouldn't over rev. Once I got used to the car I started giving it a bit more and noticed an increased in boost between 4800 and 6000. Is this normal? And secondly, does it do harm to rev this high?

You're not supposed to rev the engine over about 3000 rpm for the first 1000 miles or so, but after that it won't do any harm to rev it to the red line now and again.

the engine limiter is there to stop you doing any damage to the engine, so reving it to the redline is fine, but obviously it will put more wear on the engine than if you were driving around like a granny

Peak power is reached at about 6600rpm then it nose dives so not much point revving past that point really....
