Hi,
I'm all new to this and recently bought myself a 360bhp stage 2+ k1, (never owned a leon before)I got it home to have the traction control light, tyre pressure and epc lights on, after having diagnostics on it, the throttle body was replaced only for the same faults to pop up 2 days later, the diagnostics are pointing at the throttle body again, has anyone else had the same problem? Could it be something to do with the remap or possible ecu problem, any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Mandy

I can't remember what the codes were but the 2 that came up were regarding the throttle body even tho I had a brand new one fitted last week the garage is now saying it could be a software or ecu problem.

I've had this. I had wiring checked and any repaired. Still threw up code.

Had throttle body replaced. Still throws up codes.

Lastly I need to replace the speed sensor in the wheel side of this as they are all connected together. Hopefully this sorts mine

The codes mine threw up were

P0123 plus a couple similar codes but slight variations in numbers. Did you get these?

I have no idea. Think that would have something to do with it?

Mine also only does it when I'm accelerating in 6th gear

I previously fitted a set of Nology Silver spark plugs as people were raving about them, but after around 3 months I had a number of fault codes appear relating to a faulty throttle body and runner flap motor amongst other things.

Through trial and error I found that the plugs were the cause of my electrical gremlins as I believe they do not run resistors. This can cause havoc with many modern day cars with overly sensitive electrical systems.

Not sure if you run the Nology plugs, but I would advise sticking with either NGK or Bosch for this reason.

Yeah that's one of the same codes James, I've been on the garage today and they are thinking wiring loom, I don't know what spark plugs are in mine but it had all new last week with it's service, I feel like banging my head against a wall with it, did you get an electrical specialist to check the wiring James, I had thought about getting mine checked but wouldn't think they would find the fault unless it faults while testing, I can have the codes reset and it drive perfect for a couple of days, all I see is money through a shredder lol

Yeah I got a mate of mine who's an AutoSpark. He does the wiring and fitting for ambulances and police cars. Said the wiring at the pedal was the only problem but wasn't the cause of the problem. Just needed tidying up.

But after what -pseudonymous- said I'm now thinking spark plugs lol

What caused your codes to come up? I've also found that they go off after leaving it awhile. But you need to take it for a drive before the epc light goes off

Mine did the same I bought it then I was away for a week and they had gone off when I got back I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem but mine does it even if just idling and I think I had Bosch plugs put in so can't be that :-( guess the car just hates me or the seller saw me coming lol

I thought the exact same. Was ready to scrap it at one point. Lol. But I seen sense lol.

But I have had my throttle body changed and that seemed to fix it but came up so now I'm thinking Speed Sensor at the wheels or the Spark Plugs now.

I have no idea. But because mine only comes on at speed when I'm in 6th then I think so. But mine doesn't have the same power as yours. I'm still looking for some deals to pop up as I'm a saver haha

Lol well I bought it like this I'm kinda hoping it's not the ecu as it will wipe the remap but I'm open to all options so I can actually drive the car, so annoying having it as an ornament :-(

I bet mate. But the speed sensors aren't expensive. And neither are spark plugs so that's my next option.

I'm hoping it not the ecu as that sounds expensive.

Yeah had the car reset yesterday drove it less than 5 miles home left it all night then faults were there again this morning, it's off for a throttle body pedal thing fitted to see if that's the problem if not will be having a new wiring loom and if that fails then new ecu and if none of that works I'm scrapping it lol
