Boost Gauge Installation

Good afternoon chaps. Before I start I have looked through the forum and I cant seem to find a post which has the information I require.

Could anyone show me the best possible place to tap into for a boost gauge. I have a 1.9tdi

Also do these type of vents just pull out

Haha I've got them in my watch list. I went for a cheap gauge to see how well it works. Plus I wanted it to light up green as I have green bits on the car itself.
