Sounds like the bulbs, relays, fuses and wiring are OK because they work from the hazard switch and central locking. I would be thinking your indicator stalk/switch is the problem.

I've had the same issue develop on my 2005 FR TDI - did Ricky3's fix work for anyone? Anything else I should be aware of that I might need to try?

If the indictors are working with the hazard switch then it’s most likely the switch in the stalk. Would be worth trying contact cleaner before replacing the stalk.

The stalks are cheap enough and removing the steering wheel isn’t too bad – I even managed it. Plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do it. Also if you don’t have cruise control an ideal time to upgrade.

Was like that when I got mine. Sprayed the stalk with lubricant, and has been fine ever since

Same here. Just started to blink only 3 times for left and stops for itself. Now it also does to the right side: 3 clicks and off.
Gonna spray the ******* with WD40.

Personally I wouldn’t go spraying it with normal WD-40, there’s a good chance or shorting out the switch.

Electrical contract cleaner would be safer, it won’t leave an oil mess over the switch.

Thanks for the warning Chris.
I was wondering that last night and was going to ask the hardware store about that.

Going the safe way. ;)

Sooooo... the mistery is bigger than I thought.

It isn't the stalk only afterall. The hazard light also only blink twice and stop by themselves.

So i'm guessing it should be a relay somewhere.. maybe underneath the dash near the steering wheel.

Do you guys know anything about it? Fuses are okay.

Regards.

It seems the hazard light switch also have the relay built in...

Gonna have a trip to the dealer to check if they still charge an arm for this.

Regards.
