lol, yer when I ordered mine I noticed some of those refinements have been removed.

1. The hydraulic bonnet lifts
2. The engine bay cover
3. The door trim lights
4. They couldn't be bothered to move the alarm led and hand-brake to the right side

Not exactly deal breakers but just nice touches to the mk1 that have gone awol on the mk2 :(
i know i'm in the minority of minorities, but these sort of things could be deal-breakers for me. if uk models end up with alarm led / hand-brake on wrong side that's pathetic. small touches maybe but they can add up to mean quite a lot.

Durham, England.
Mk5 Golfs all suffer the handbrake on the wrong side too. Even though the leaflets all shows it on the other. Same with the door lights there no more on the mk5 golf.

I think the bonnet lifts might be something to do with EU safety rules???
yeah i've heard that ... so surely this means every new car being produced now has had to revert to the manual bonnet stay, or does it depend on where it's situated?
