Hi could someone please help .
I have a cupra k1 which has just started to get a horrible tapping/knocking noise from which seems like the top of engine . This happens between 2 and 3k revs under load or stationry . So if someome could shed some light it would be highly appreciated ..

Worth checking the cam follower, how many miles has the car done?

Its done 100k .. if that has worn would that cause a tapping noise

Does it have a rattle on start up which then goes?

If so get your cam chain checked , mine did the same and rattled on part throttle turns out the tensioner failed , new one fitted and the rattle/knock went

As above, I would check the cam follower and the cam chain/tensioner

The sound is similar maybe more harsh and its only between 2 and 3k revs ... on idle it sound fine .. and iv just checked the camfollwer and it looks ok .
